• Cable operators are increasingly implementing split SSIDs, where two SSIDs are broadcast –
One public SSID for all customers to avail of, as well as a private SSID for a customer’s home
Wi-Fi access (e.g. UPC).
• Openet’s solution provides a reconnection timer, which enables two key value adds:
1. It automatically prioritises the private Wi-Fi network, which is preferable to the subscriber when
available.
2. Once a customer has ‘deleted’ their access to the public Wi-Fi network in order to avail of their
private Wi-Fi, Openet enable the device to reconnect to the public network after a defined
period of time (i.e. 10 minutes/1 hour).
• Openet also provides private access point prioritisation, which automatically prioritises the
private Wi-Fi networks manually provisioned by the customer (i.e. work and home) above the
public Wi-Fi network.
