  1. Connect and Empower PeopleMaking people more productive is a direct result of enabling them to access resources and knowledge regardless of where they are and what device they use, through a user experience optimized for usability and adoption.User InterfaceTo allow people to interact with SharePoint’s rich set of integrated capabilities in an easy and intuitive way, the Office Ribbon UI has been implemented in SharePoint, providing users with a familiar and contextual experience that drives their productivity even further. This user experience is enhanced by additional technologies that boost usability and by the ability of all users to easily edit and publish SharePoint sites.Office Integration Microsoft Office is, by far, the most commonly used business productivity software in the world. Office has always been about automating tasks and providing people with choices in how they get things done. Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 provide users with a seamless integration of capabilities that span across Client and Server, often without users even realizing that both are involved.Anywhere Access Mobile work isn’t just for the sales force anymore. Today, most businesses support telecommuting, and they expect employees to be “always on, always connected,” even when they are away from the office. SharePoint 2010 offers a diverse set of capabilities that extends people’s access to resources and allows them to be productive regardless of the tools or devices they have available.Cut costs with a Unified InfrastructureDriving cost efficiencies and accomplishing more with the same resources is possible through the consolidation of all the key business collaboration solutions into SharePoint 2010 and using this common platform to deploy solutions for your intranet, extranet, or for your Internet web presence. Platform ConsolidationThe rich set of integrated capabilities for business collaboration provided by SharePoint 2010, in addition to its enterprise-scale manageability, will enable more customers to retire niche solutions and focus new solutions on SharePoint. This will accelerate their ability to drive efficiencies, allowing IT departments to achieve more impact with the same resources.Deployment ChoiceNowadays, IT is required to support scale agility, allowing its business collaboration platform to be scaled up and out quickly, based on changing business needs. SharePoint 2010 provides IT with the flexibility of choosing whether to deploy on-premises or in the cloud, thus enhancing its ability to support any given scenario while optimizing resources and remaining relevant and efficient.IT ProductivityWith business collaboration and productivity becoming instrumental to success, IT departments are required to do more with no additional resources. With SharePoint 2010, robust management tools enable IT to multiply its impact and achieve a higher degree of effectiveness with the same resources.Rapidly Respond to Business NeedsWhen time-to-market is key, SharePoint 2010 enables people to customize the out-of-box platform and deploy solutions that enable them to address specific business requirements quickly and in a secure manner. Developer Productivity In alignment with SharePoint’s approach of doing more with no additional resources, investments like integration with Visual Studio 2010 will enable customers to rely on existing programming expertise to enrich the SharePoint platform and increase the quality and ROI on their investments.Data Connectivity A major advancement in SharePoint is allowing users, regardless of their technical expertise, to interact with line-of-business data, surface it in their SharePoint sites, analyze it, and make updates to be reflected in the external data source itself, such as ERP and CRM systems.Composite SolutionsEnabling users to address specific business and collaboration needs, while relieving IT from the need to be involved all changes to the platform, is made possible through a rich set of tools and features that allow users to create no-code solutions and to deploy those solutions in an easy and secure manner.
  2. Office Word 2010 and Outlook 2010 can use this data to populate templates and generate mail shot letters and other document types.Offline Interaction - With SharePoint Workspace users can take a Team Site or a single library offline with just one click. Users are given full read / write capabilities, can edit metadata, and can even take line-of-business data offline using SharePoint 2010’s virtual lists. With SharePoint 2010 only deltas are transmitted for update, speeding experiences for remote and low bandwidth activities.Access Services – enables users to present Access solutions through their Web browser. For IT staff, it means that Access business solutions can be managed and shared across the organization.Excel Services – Enhanced Excel Calculation Services provides a familiar environment for workbook collaboration through online data visualization and an extensible API.Visio Services – Presents data-driven Visio diagrams through Web browsers, enabling users to share Visio applications across the Web.Web Apps – Web versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote will bring familiar office productivity tools to you Web browser users, increasing Self-Service – SharePoint 2010 empowers users to create and publish content across intranets, extranets, and the internet with minimal IT involvement, saving staff valuable time and dollars.  SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint Designer 2010 also allow users to specify and assemble a set of steps, conditions, and actions that fit together to form a sequential workflow by simply through the SharePoint 2010 contextual ribbon.Mobile Usability – All SharePoint lists and document libraries include, by default, views for mobile users that work on small screens. Mobile document viewers for Word, Excel and PowerPoint let users see the latest documents in libraries. Business Connectivity Services data is automatically available to mobile users for read and write operations and administrators can configure SharePoint alerts through SMS messages. Cross-browser support, includes Safari and Firefox as Tier 1 clients.Offline Usability – SharePoint Workspaces enable users to take documents and items offline so they can make changes outside the office and when no Internet connection is available. Any changes are automatically synchronized the next time the user connects to the SharePoint server. This offline editing can be used on SharePoint data and external BCS data.
  3. Tight integration with Microsoft Unified Communication offers one-click communications with co-workers.“Ask Me About”Enables experts to advertise their skill set. This makes it easy to talk to the right person about a business issue.Recent ActivitiesOften it can seem that colleague information is out of date. Nickname and phonetic search make it all easierYou can find people based on a range of criteria, such as social distanceYou can help people to find you by providing additional information about yourself and what you do.All hits show content that the user has publishedThe layout – though customizable – has been designed to provide the best screen ergonomic experience
  19. Key MessagePresenter NotesPresenter Guidance
  20. Key MessageGetting content on to your site quickly, accurately and securely is critical for any organization.Presenter GuidanceIncrease Productivity and Information ValueWith SharePoint 2010, content management is simple and intuitive, allowing employees to focus on higher value tasks. In addition, SharePoint 2010 provides co-authoring, metadata driven navigation, search refiners, and a rich social overlay to help people turn information into action.Drive Compliance and Reduce RiskSharePoint 2010 provides a single platform for managing content across the enterprise. By consistently applying metadata, retention schedules, record declarations, and legal holds, SharePoint 2010 can help to ensure that information is managed in accordance with policy and regulation. This can reduce the risk of incorrectly deleting relevant information or retaining information beyond its useful life.Consolidate Systems and Simplify IntegrationReducing the need to purchase multiple ECM solutions, SharePoint 2010 delivers the management of documents, records, Web content, rich media, and document output in an integrated, extensible platform. In addition, SharePoint 2010 is built on an open platform that supports interoperability standards like XML, SOAP, RSS, REST, WebDAV, and WSRP, which significantly reduces the cost of maintaining a heterogeneous environment.
  21. Key MessageContent is easier to create and use in SharePoint 2010.Presenter NotesOffice integrationSharePoint includes a Connect to Office that tells Microsoft Office which SharePoint libraries the user commonly interacts with. This make the library available when the user launches an Office application, so SharePoint libraries are available with local folders.Word Automation ServicesThe Content OrganizerThe Content Organizer automatically routes content to locations based on Content Types and metadata values. This minimizes errors in content classification and improves search capabilities.Metadata NavigationThe navigations panes available to SharePoint 2010 users are driven by available metadata. As a user progresses through the navigation process the refinement options are updated to reflect the metadata available.Compliance SharePoint Server provides “Compliance Everywhere.” All the expected tools – retention, legal holds, etc. – are all available through SharePoint Server, as well as the Office Client, for compliance managers to identify and set policies at a document (or groups of documents) level. Multi-stage dispositionSharePoint 2010 extends the disposition functionality of SharePoint Server 2007, so that more granular management options, such as review cycles and disposition of draft content can be configured within workflows.AccessibilitySharePoint supports WCAG 2.0 AA out to the box.
  22. Key MessageContent is easier to create and manage in SharePoint 2010.Presenter NotesMetadataEasy to add and identify document metadata to track, find, and share documents. Automated metadata capture where possible and, if user input is needed, inputs are non-invasive and built into standard save and upload functions.
