GAME
By: Chris Bussey
Together
Wii belong together, you and I. I will devote my life to you, seeking to destroy all who dare
harm you. I feel Linked to you, the Zelda of my heart.
I will be your knight in shining armor. I will ride my trusty green dinosaur steed. to the ends of
each and every level, kill stealing my way to you.
I only have a Half Life without you. With you? You complete my Final Fantasy. Your Golden eyes
are intoxicating, your voice a sweet Ocarina song, a Halo enveloping your hair.
Before you, I was a Resident in the world of Evil. With you? My Soul is of the highest Caliber. You
are my D.S. My Darling Sweetheart.
I keep you in my pocket, close to my heart. Mario is red, Sonic is blue. Why don't you hit select.
and be my player two.
This poem is about a person sharing
their love to another by using gaming
euphemisms. I chose this poem
because I liked the way it used video
games to describe how this person
loved the other. I love video games,
which is why I chose this one because
it sounds like it speaks from the heart
by using video game references. This
poem has imagery. When I read the
poem, I could actually see all of the
images that the poem was describing.
The poem has also has free verse,
because there isnā€™t any rhyme scheme.
My Life Is A Video Game
My life is a Video Game It all started with my parents They decided to insert a coin
into a slot, And then pressed the button START. My life has many chapters and stages
Like a game has levels that engages. I with only one life, In a mysterious new world,
Equipped with either a gun or a knife, Or even a shield and a sword. But in reality, I
donā€™t have weapons. However, I still have many tools to spare. Ranging from paper,
pencil, or pen, I have more, but you probably donā€™t care. Writing an essay is like a
Call of Duty game, Only armed with a pencil loaded with ammunition. I first list the
date and my name - Then I start writing with a loaded ambition. WOW, Iā€™m on a kill
streak, shooting down ideas I am calling in a care package, I am doing hot. You
respawnshould know that no one can stop me, DUH. I will end this round with a
period, BOOM Headshot. If I win or lose, it doesnā€™t matter, Just look at who got the
high score. My skills keep on getting better, You canā€™t break me, Iā€™m hardcore. We all
strive to be the very best, We all know there is an end, We all try to eliminate the
rest, We all still have fun, making new friends. Iā€™m like Master Chief, Who is such a
boss, We both look good in green, Very cool, and very strong. I am like Sub-Zero.
Chill, but wise not to mess with me. I am like Mario, Who will keep pushing to find my
Princess Peach. In the end, I am one amazing guy, Born with a bunch of default skills,
But before its game over and die, My life will have a bunch of fun and thrills. It
doesnā€™t matter what console I play, If itā€™s an Xbox, Playstation, PC, or Wii, Life is the
only game I play today, So grab a controller, you can even play with me.
This poem is about someone
describing their life with video
games and how their parents
involved them into gaming. I
chose this poem because it
describes how all of the
technology of video games have
evolved through this personā€™s life
as it did with me. I love how the
poem mentions all of the
counsels that I have played on so
the poem brought me to memory
lane. This poem is a blank verse
because there are no stanzas and
there is no rhyme. The poem was
imagery as well because I could
image all of the counsels that
this poem mentioned.
Lifeā€™s A Video Game
lifeā€™s a video game you can win or lose, you can play fair
or you can break the rules. If it gets too hard you can
end the game, Or you can make it work through all the
pain. If you work hard you will be a success, If you
donā€™t, youā€™ll be full of regrets. You can learn strategy as
you play, And improve you skill day by day. You can make
excuses of how youā€™ve been Cheated, Or you can keep
on trying until you beat it. So get inside the game thatā€™s
what itā€™s all about, Because once you get in, thereā€™s no
way getting Out. Once you see from all your same, Youā€™ll
realize that lifeā€™s a video game. When you wanna quit
from all your pain, Too bad thereā€™s no button that says
ā€œnew game.ā€
This poem is about someone
describing life as a video game.
How life can be made with
rules or no rules. I chose this
poem because it was kind of
catchy to me. I liked the words
that it rhymed with. This poem
has end rhyme through out the
whole poem. This poem also
has couplets through out the
whole poem, because there is
always an end rhyme at the
end of each second line.
Video Games
Do you remember Pac-Man, he had to watch out for each ghost. While Pitfall Harry, his
treasure heā€™d boast.
With Missile command, came a huge bang, Followers of Space Invaders, about defeating
aliens they sang.
One of the coolest of all time, was Halo ā€“ the first-person shooter. To play Super Mario, you
wonā€™t need a tutor.
Call of Duty, is all about war. Itā€™s one of those games, with plenty of gore.
With Grand Theft Auto, thereā€™s no need to explain Being chased by those cops, is fun for the
brain.
The legends of Zelda is about purely adventure. If you remember Tetris, you may need a
denture.
Sonic The Hedgehog, was known to be superfast. Those Final Fantasy games, forever they
last.
The Sims are interesting, games about life. Where you choose a house, a job and good wife.
Wii games are so much fun, as we get off our butts. Active, family-friendly games, never
show any guts.
I chose this poem because I
liked the rhyming through out
the poem. I also really liked
how the poem mentioned all of
the popular video games from
when my parents were kids to
now. This poem has stanzas
and imagery because I could
see all of the games being
played when the poet
described all the video games.
I feel that the mood is happy
because the poem describes all
of the happy times when you
play the games.
Fearless
Oh fearless plumber, short and fat but brave Whose selfless task to rescue
the princess Your adventures, they tell such a story grave That leave even
the greatest men impressed
You crossed the plains of 1-1 to 8-3 Jumped high, stomped countless
Goombas in the ground Kicked turtle shells into the cactus beasts But yet,
the princess, she is still not found
Raccoon suit, fire flowers and mushrooms Will guide you to the Koopa
Kingā€™s lair Use all your might to evade certain doom When all seems lost
you never fell despair
In his rage he ground pounds through the floor The battle ends, King Bowser
is no more
This poem is about Mario going
through his voyage but at the
same time, an actual person
going through his voyages. I
chose this poem because I love
Mario. When I was a kid, I
always played Mario day in and
day out. This poem, itself, is a
ballad because it tells the story
of Mario. This poem also has
imagery because if you played
Mario, you can imagine all of
things this poem is describing.
Gears of War
The Sound OF Chainsaws,
Grinding In The Dust,
The Sound OF People Revving,
To Kill The Other Man,
It Grinds Through Their Body,
As They Start To Fall Apart,
As They Scream And Pinder,
For Them To Stop,
But As Soon As It Hits You,
You Cant Do Anything But Watch,
As Your Last 3 Seconds,
Are Pain, Regret, Trust...
This poem is about the video
game, Gears of War, and what the
characters went through
throughout the game. I chose this
poem because I love the video
game Gears of War. I like how the
poem uses a quote from the video
game at the end of the poem.
This poem describes what the
character of the video game has
to go through and how tough the
characterā€™s life is. So I think the
mood is sad and hope, because
the poem seems sad at first but
then at the end it can feel that
thereā€™s hope for this character.
Video Game Life
In the arcade when one breaks, They fade and you know they
aren't a fake.
In real life when one dies, He cries and she cries.
In the arcade you get 10 lives, For a quarter and a chance to
drive.
In real life you get 1 life, And one chance to get it right.
In the arcade if you mess up, You can clean it up faster than you
can get your close up.
In real life if you mess up, You can't clean up that abrupt.
Video Games compared to Life. I hope this is kinda good(:
This poem is about real life
and video gameā€™s life and how
they differ. I chose this poem
because I like that itā€™s a little
retro and it talks about arcade
games. I also chose this
because I, myself, love arcade
games. This poem is a
Hepastich, which is a 7 line
stanza. This poem also has
end rhyme through out the
whole poem.
Halo
Halo one, with the pistol, splitscreen co-op, and story
Is a fantastic experience that will stay in my memory
Halo 2, although to me wasnā€™t as special (just didnā€™t quite jive)
had a great online component that revolutionized Xbox live
And Halo 3, you rekindled my love
Campaign was fun, multiplayer set the bar far above
But ODST, Wars, and Legends have left me weary
I just hope Reach can relight my love for the series
This poem is about how this
person felt about all the halo
games. I chose this poem
because I love the story line
of Halo. The poem is a ballad
because it kind of tells the
main stories of how each
Halo game went through.
This poem is a free verse
because it does not go with
any protocol. It doesnā€™t have
any rhyming scheme.
Video Game Brain
How many video games could you play, if you could play every day?
I want to know, I want to try, I want a guy that never dies.
Flying, racing, action games! Look in my head, you'd see a video game
brain!
Blurry eyes, all red shot. Playing games and getting hot.
I play video games way too much! But thatā€™s my Mom saying such. I don't
agree, thatā€™s when I say, I want to play video games EVERY DAY!ā€
This poem is about a person
being very obsessed about
video games and thatā€™s all he
thinks about. I chose this poem
because that is the way I feel
sometimes when I play video
games. I think the mood is
curiosity or wonder because
the person wants a specific
thing and he wonders about
how others feel about video
games. The poem of course has
rhyming schemes and has a
hyperbole. Thereā€™s hyperbole
because you canā€™t have a
character that never dies, it is
impossible.
Online
it usually takes me an hour to drive to the shore. If the traffic is
heavy, it may take a little more. Along the boardwalk and
marina, there are many a casino. I can take my pick with which
one to go. I donā€™t have to put extra mileage on that car of mine.
Now all I have to do is visit online. For those rather long
distances, I no longer have to roam. It is legal for me to play in
my own home. The number of different games I can try is
plenty. There is only one requirement for eligibility. I must
prove that I am a resident of New Jersey. No longer is it
necessary to travel by train or bus. The transportation can cause
a lot of fuss. There is no need to fill up my car with gas.
However, with this internet deal, I think I will pass.
This poem is about someone
playing online games and how
better it is than regular video
games. I chose this poem
because it is true on how I feel
with online gaming. You can
enter this whole different
universe and visit other
countries just inside your home.
I feel this poem has couplets
because on every other sentence
the poem rhymes. So the poem
also has end rhyme because the
words that rhyme are at the end
of each sentence. I think the
mood of this poem is happy
because the person is happy that
he or she can do all of these
things just online and in their
homes.
Football
Athletic people, exciting
Throwing, running, catching
Helmet, cleats, net, goalie
Kicking, over exaggerating, falling
European, boring
soccer
I believe in the power of destiny
The way people control their futures
The power of hard working
People are judgmental
Dedication to what you love
But people who are generous and nice 24/7, I do not believe in.
I believe in will power
I believe good will prevail all
I believe people choose to be bad
And I believe yesterday is history, tomorrow is the future, and today is a gift, which is why
we call it the present
Happy
Happy is yellow and green
It tastes like a big platter of steak
It sounds like the symphony playing
And smells like warm apple pie
It looks like the sunrise to a new day
And makes you feel like you can fly.
Just becauseā€¦
Just because Iā€™m funny
Donā€™t make fun of my jokes
Donā€™t always not take me serious
Still laugh at when I make jokes
Just because Iā€™m funny
It doesnā€™t mean I canā€™t be taken serious
It doesnā€™t mean I donā€™t get sad
It doesnā€™t define me
Just because Iā€™m funny
Still I can sympathies
But I will make you feel better
Just because Iā€™m funny--- I am your true friend
Tis is a pandig
Pandigs live in Panama City in pouring rain in the past, in
Panama
Pandigs eat pigs, people, probably bacon, and peanuts
Pandigs like peanuts, precious items, plastic, and platinum
Pandigs go on purges, write on paper, and pass out when
scared
Pandigs paralyzed my fear of public people speaking

When you wanna quit from all your pain, Too bad thereā€™s no button that says ā€œnew game.ā€

With Missile command, came a huge bang, Followers of Space Invaders, about defeating aliens they sang. One of the coolest of all time, was Halo ā€“ the first-person shooter. To play Super Mario, you wonā€™t need a tutor. Call of Duty, is all about war. Itā€™s one of those games, with plenty of gore. With Grand Theft Auto, thereā€™s no need to explain Being chased by those cops, is fun for the brain. The legends of Zelda is about purely adventure. If you remember Tetris, you may need a denture. • 13. This poem is about the video game, Gears of War, and what the characters went through throughout the game. I chose this poem because I love the video game Gears of War. I like how the poem uses a quote from the video game at the end of the poem. This poem describes what the character of the video game has to go through and how tough the characterā€™s life is. So I think the mood is sad and hope, because the poem seems sad at first but then at the end it can feel that thereā€™s hope for this character.
  • 14. Video Game Life In the arcade when one breaks, They fade and you know they aren't a fake. In real life when one dies, He cries and she cries. In the arcade you get 10 lives, For a quarter and a chance to drive. In real life you get 1 life, And one chance to get it right. In the arcade if you mess up, You can clean it up faster than you can get your close up. In real life if you mess up, You can't clean up that abrupt. Video Games compared to Life. I hope this is kinda good(:

Halo Halo one, with the pistol, splitscreen co-op, and story Is a fantastic experience that will stay in my memory Halo 2, although to me wasnā€™t as special (just didnā€™t quite jive) had a great online component that revolutionized Xbox live And Halo 3, you rekindled my love Campaign was fun, multiplayer set the bar far above But ODST, Wars, and Legends have left me weary I just hope Reach can relight my love for the series

  • 18. Video Game Brain How many video games could you play, if you could play every day? I want to know, I want to try, I want a guy that never dies. Flying, racing, action games! Look in my head, you'd see a video game brain! Blurry eyes, all red shot. Playing games and getting hot. I play video games way too much! But thatā€™s my Mom saying such. I don't agree, thatā€™s when I say, I want to play video games EVERY DAY!ā€
  • 19. This poem is about a person being very obsessed about video games and thatā€™s all he thinks about. I chose this poem because that is the way I feel sometimes when I play video games. I think the mood is curiosity or wonder because the person wants a specific thing and he wonders about how others feel about video games. The poem of course has rhyming schemes and has a hyperbole. Thereā€™s hyperbole because you canā€™t have a character that never dies, it is impossible.
  • 20. Online it usually takes me an hour to drive to the shore. If the traffic is heavy, it may take a little more. Along the boardwalk and marina, there are many a casino. I can take my pick with which one to go. I donā€™t have to put extra mileage on that car of mine. Now all I have to do is visit online. For those rather long distances, I no longer have to roam. It is legal for me to play in my own home. The number of different games I can try is plenty. There is only one requirement for eligibility. I must prove that I am a resident of New Jersey. No longer is it necessary to travel by train or bus. The transportation can cause a lot of fuss. There is no need to fill up my car with gas. However, with this internet deal, I think I will pass.
  • 21. This poem is about someone playing online games and how better it is than regular video games. I chose this poem because it is true on how I feel with online gaming. You can enter this whole different universe and visit other countries just inside your home. I feel this poem has couplets because on every other sentence the poem rhymes. So the poem also has end rhyme because the words that rhyme are at the end of each sentence. I think the mood of this poem is happy because the person is happy that he or she can do all of these things just online and in their homes.

  • 23. I believe in the power of destiny The way people control their futures The power of hard working People are judgmental Dedication to what you love But people who are generous and nice 24/7, I do not believe in. I believe in will power I believe good will prevail all I believe people choose to be bad And I believe yesterday is history, tomorrow is the future, and today is a gift, which is why we call it the present
