(6000 lb.) – so a snow plow can be fitted on all 4x4 models. The suspension trim height can also be easily adjusted to compensate for the
weight of the plow to help maintain optimal wheel-to-ground contact and maintain better running ground clearance.

4x4 models feature a proven 2-speed part-time transfer case with the convenience of an automatic connect/disconnect mechanism in

TRAILER SWAY CONTROL
Any time this system detects trailer sway, it activates individual truck and/or trailer brakes and reduces engine power, if necessary,
to help bring the trailer back under control and keep it on its intended path. Included on all models with single rear wheels.
HILL START ASSIST
This feature makes it easier to move off smoothly from a stop on grades of about 5 percent or more. To keep your truck and trailer
from rolling backwards when you release the brake pedal, it automatically holds the brakes for an additional 1.5 seconds or until
you press the accelerator. Included on all models with single rear wheels.
TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL
The available integrated trailer brake control system is controlled via a switch mounted on the dash. It measures brake force and
activates the trailer brakes as needed.
TRANSMISSION GRADE BRAKING
Both 6-speed automatic transmissions include an automatic grade braking feature. When the transmission detects a downhill grade,
it can automatically shift down a gear to apply additional engine braking for improved speed control and reduced brake wear.
BUILT-IN 5TH-WHEEL PREP
With pre-drilled access holes in the rear frame section, the new Sierra HDs make it easy to install the 5th-wheel or gooseneck-style
hitch of your choice. You can also specify an available 8-way wiring harness that’s conveniently routed to the front of the pickup box.

NOTES FOR 2500HD & 3500HD TRAILERING:
• 2500HD and 3500HD models have a weight-carrying hitch limit of 3402 kg (7500 lb.) and require a weight-distributing hitch (or fifth-wheel) with trailer weights in excess of this limit.
• Fifth-wheel kingpin loads are usually higher than ball hitch trailer tongue loads, so careful attention must be given to the trucks payload capacity and Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (RGAWR).

• Trailering kingpin weights should be 15-25% of the loaded trailer weight.
• Trailering capacity may be limited by the tow vehicles ability to carry the hitch weight without exceeding the GVWR or RGAWR.
• An Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (option JL1) is available in combination with the Trailering Special Equipment Package (option Z82). This facilitates hook-up of most electric trailer brakes.
