SOP FOR TOTAL POWER FAILURE INCLUDING DCS FAILURE.
BOILER DESK ENGINEER.

1. INFORM AND COORDINATE WITH FIELD OPERATOR FOR LOCAL/FIELD OPERATION.

2. DISTRIBUTE THE C.Ls to EACH BOILER AND INSTRUCT THEM TO

        A).MANUALLY OPEN STARTUP VENT/EMRV FOR DEPRESSURISE THE BOILER.
        B).MANUALLY OPEN CO VENT/PA DUCT VENTS FOR RELEASING GASES.
        C).CLOSE MAIN STEAM STOP VALVE.

3. ENSURE THE PRESSURE DROPPING IN BOILERS FROM MAIN STEAM PRESSURE GAUGES.

4. ENSURE THAT BOTH ID FAN DAMPERS ARE IN OPEN CONDITION.

5. ENSURE THAT BOTH PA & SA FAN DAMPERS ARE IN OPEN CONDITION.

6. ENSURE THAT BED ASH IS NOT DRAINING.

7. CHECK THE WORK DONE BY C.Ls

8. ALL THE MOTORS L.P.B.S. STOP PUSH BUTTON TO BE LOCKED.

9. COORDINATE WITH BOILER & TURBINE OPERATORS FOR TAKING CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR
BOXUP.

10. STOP THE AHP SYSTEM IF THESE ARE IN RUNNING STATE.

TURBINE DESK ENGINEER

   1.  INFORM TO THE TURBINE FIELD OPERATOR THAT TOATL POWER AND DCS FAILED.
   2.  ENSURE THAT ESV GOT CLOSED.
   3.  ENSURE THAT EOP GOT STARTED
   4.  INFORM TO ELECTRICAL ENGINEER THAT TO SWITCH ON BARRING GEAR MOTOR FROM
       FIELD WITH DG SET OTHERWISE ROTATING MANUALLY.
   5. COORDINATE WITH THE FIELD OPERATOR FOR LOCAL OPERATION.
   6. EJECTOR TO BE ISOLATED FROM STEAM & AIR SIDE AND TO BE KEPT IN MANUAL MODE.
   7. GSC STEAM SIDE TO BE CLOSED.
   8. STEAM TO TURBINE GLANDS TO BE ISLOATED.
   9. VACUUM BREAK VALVE TO BE OPENED
   10. ENSURE THE DEAREATOR LEVEL.
11. CLOSE ALL MOTORISED ISOLATION VALVES MANUALLY AND CLOSE ALL TURBINE
      EXTRACTION MOTORISED VALVES.
  12. OPEN THE ALL TURBINE CASING AND GLAND STEAM DRAINS AND AUXILARAY STEAM
      DRAINS.
  13. MANUALLY CLOSE THE STEAM DUMP MOTORISED VALVE.
  14. CLOSE THE CONDESATE TO DEAERATOR LINE ISOLATION VALVE AFTER CONTROL
      STATION .




AFTER RESUMING THE IMPORT SUPPLY.

BOILER DESK ENGINEER
  1. COORDINATE WITH ELECTRICAL ENGINEER FOR RESTART THE AUXILARIES.
  2. COORDINATE WITH BOILER OPERATOR FOR RESUMING SUPPLY.
  3. TAKE I.D. FANS INTO SERVICE AFTER GETTING CLEARANCE FROM
     ELECTRICAL ENGINEER & MAINTAIN THE DRAFT.
  4. TO START THE INSTRUMENT & SERVICE AIR COMPRESSORS.
  5. TAKE A.C.W. PUMP INTO SERVICE.
  6. TAKE BOILER FEED PUMP INTO SERVICE AND MAINTAIN THE DRUM LEVEL
     AFTER GETTING CLEARANCE.
  7. TO START THE BOILER AS PER OUR STANDARD PROCEDURE.
  8. ENSURE THAT ALL THE EQUIPMENT IN NORMAL CONDITION.

TURBINE DESK ENGINEER

  1. COORDINATE WITH TURBINE OPERATOR FOR RESUMING SUPPLY
     NORMALLY.
  2. AFTER GETTING CLEARANCE FROM ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TO START THE
     AUXILARIES.
  3. ENSURE A.C.W. PUMP IS IN SERVICE.
  4. ENSURE COOLING WATER FLOW FOR LUBE OIL COOLERS AND GENERATOR
     COOLERS.
  5. TO START C.E.P & MAINTAIN NORMAL C.R.T. LEVEL.
  6. TO MAINTAIN NORMAL DEAREATOR LEVEL.
7. TO START THE TURBINE AS PER OUR STANDARD PROCEDURE.
8. ENSURE THAT ALL THE EQUIPMENT IN NORMAL CONDITION.
