Editor's Notes

  1. Launching BillPin – making it easy for college kids to split group expenses and keep a tab with each otherEarly alpha out in the appstore, launching beta next week
  2. Silicon valley is a magical place. There is a billion dollar company born in the US every 3 months, and they are 90, 95% silicon valley. It’s where all the talent, the skills and the smarts, and the money is, and it is unmatched. And it will probably remain unmatched.
  3. So what could it possibly learn from asia?Well I thought about it and this is what comes to mind first –
  4. So asia could be a great place to escape taxes, or for that matter the law, if you are running a pirated content company.
  5. Gangnam style doesn’t count.
  6. Syndicated to Hulu, netflix, youtubeClass project – Razmig, Changseong24M from Tier 1 VCsThat’s what I am talking about in terms of large global opportunties that could likely be right there in your scope, but remains a blindspot. This is an opportunity that could easily have been YouTube or Hulu’s game, or more importantly, one of another american online video startups who has missed out on this.
  7. The 2nd thing is –
  8. They started around the same time as their direct competitor Olark, which is a YC company.Olark had much more success in its first 2 years and it was really quite depressing for zopim initially to watch olark on techcrunch and other good stuff all the time. But somehow in the last two years, they have overtaken olark in more than one way.
