3. I’ve noticed that the trend among local SEO
providers is to use a contract to lock clients in for
12 -24 months.
I’ve also noticed these contracts tend to be guided by a
specific number of keywords.
One of my mate’s is paying $900 a month to get 5
back-links based on 5 keywords per month, and
he has to provide the content for the posts!
4. That’s insane! Are you in the same situation? Why
should you limit yourself to 5 keywords?
I’ve also noticed the squeaky wheel gets the most
attention. After 6 months of providing little to no increase
in his traffic, it wasn’t until he started to ring them and
complain that he started to notice things were getting
done.
5. The most interesting thing to me is this big SEO
company doesn’t seem to care about his on-page
SEO at all. In fact, my mate was told that on-page
SEO wasn’t used by search engines any more, and
he should only worry about back links.
And when I logged into his site and checked his meta-
data settings, this big SEO company had actually put his
meta-keywords into the description field and the meta-
description into the keyword field. They cared so little
about on-page SEO they got it completely wrong!
