Inforum 2014 Infor ERP differences training for Infor Ming.le, Infor Cloudsuites and Infor ERP LN. These presentations explain how to use new functionality enhancements in Infor LN 10.4 and other applications within the vertical industry Cloudsuites. There are Cloudsuites for Financials, Aerospace and Defense (A&D), Automotive, Industrial Machining and Equipment and other discrete manufacturing industries. If you still have Baan 4, FourthShift, Microsoft Dynamics GP, SAP R/3 or any other legacy ERP, then you might want to consider Infor LN. We specialize in Baan 4 to LN migrations but can handle upgrades from virtually any manufacturing ERP system to the new Infor CloudSuites. For more information and how-to content, visit http://inforln.com or contact Dan Aldridge, CEO of Performa Apps, at 703.251.4504.

  4. 4. 4Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Business Problem • Without material availability, completion of the service activities is not possible • When the moment of execution is close, the certainty of material availability needs to be high – often companies cannot check whether all parts are there for e.g. tomorrow • When the material is NOT available, often no trigger to solve the problem • by contacting the supplier, to see whether he can deliver earlier • by shifting the service activity to the first date of material availability Material not available causes problems  Service activities cannot be completed  extra costs, extra visits  Customer satisfaction low, since work not done in time or finished later  Customer satisfaction low, since the broken installation cannot be used  Partial material outbound  materials get lost  extra costs
  5. 5. 5Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Business Value • See upcoming material shortages early • Make sure that supplier delivers on time • Contact customer to postpone service job • This results in  Higher customer satisfaction  Less “half executed” repairs - causing high costs  Outbound for all materials together, no parts lost at staging location
  6. 6. 6Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com The business requirement • Support 2 planning models: • Plan employees first (e.g. work bench), then check whether materials are available • Find easily orders and activities with material shortage (to work on problem) • Determine when material is available, then plan the employees to perform activity • Shift the service job to the material availability moment

  11. 11. 11Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com LN Solution: how does it work • Option to mark service-item as critical for inventory • Various levels of materials availability can be checked: • ATP (via Enterprise Planning) • Planned available (projected inventory) • Prioritized On-Hand • Prioritized demand (for planned available and prioritized On Hand) • Released more important than planned • Origin Field Service, Depot, Prev. Maintenance • Time • Optionally, the Service Activities can be shifted to the first material availability moment • Outbound – order complete or activity complete • To make sure that all material are issued together for 1 activity or 1 order

  17. 17. 17Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Demo • For existing orders, the material availability is checked • Sufficient material for the first activities, shortage for the last activities • 1 (later) order is released • This order has now higher priority • An earlier “planned” service order shows shortage now • Released order shows no inventory shortage

  19. 19. 19Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Limitations / Out of scope • The material lines must have a Planned Inventory Transaction, otherwise the material availability cannot be checked • When the item is not configured in Enterprise Planning, the ATP cannot be checked from Service • Other origins than LN Service (Service Orders, Work Orders, MSO part delivery etc) have a higher priority by default • Customer owned inventory is excluded from the logic
  20. 20. 20Copyright © 2013. Infor. All Rights Reserved. www.infor.com Summary • Check the material availability • Longer term : ATP • Medium term: Planned Available (prioritized) • Short term: Prioritized On-Hand (prioritized) • Option to shift the activity to Material availability date • Plan model: • Plan employees first (e.g. work bench) and check whether materials are available • Determine when material is available, then plan the employees to perform activity
