Florence Griffith Joyner was an American track and field athlete who held the world records in the 100m and 200m dashes from 1988 until her death in 1998 at age 38. Known as "Flo-Jo", she was a triple gold medalist at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and displayed a muscular physique that led to rumors of steroid use, though she never tested positive. After retiring in 1989, she established charitable foundations and was inducted into the Track and Field Hall of Fame.
