World Peace is something that will never happen. Too many countries have too much military
power and don't want to give in to any other country. War is something that the world is going to
have to deal with because there has been very few years over the history of the world that have
been war free. Like one quote by an unknown author says, "Peace is rare: less than 8% of the time
since the beginning of recorded time has the world been entirely at peace. In a total of 3530 years,

help fight poverty and other forms of structural violence as well as decrease the occurrence of
"difficult life conditions" that often make individuals and groups susceptible to violence (Wagner

nations would become unnecessary in a prosperous world.
Most importantly, a globalized society would promote the ultimate cooperation needed to achieve

UN promotion of world peace Can world peace be attained? The answer depends on one's
international relations view. A realist would reject the notion of world peace, since conflict is the
innate state of international politics. The liberal view would argue that world peace could be
attained through cooperation; the more modern neoliberals would add that it will take international
organizations (IOs) and international law to enforce peace. Today, there are hundreds of IOs, and

Collective security has become more of a theory than an actual practice for the UN. By definition,
the UN needs to identify the aggressor in order to proceed. Unfortunately, in most international
disputes, it is hard to determine which state is the aggressor. It becomes even more difficult
finding the aggressor when trying restore peace in an intrastate conflict (Nye & Welch, 2011, p.
192). Not only is it hard to determine the aggressor, but it is also difficult for the UN to agree on
who is the aggressor. According to the UN charter, article 24, the Security Council has the "primary
responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, and agree that in carrying out
its duties under this responsibility the Security Council acts on [UN's] behalf" (United Nations,
1945). It is the Security Council's duty to determine the aggressor in an international dispute, and
issue diplomatic policy to resolve the crisis. The Security Council has to approve measures against
the threat to peace by a 60% decision with all permanent members in the affirmative. It is rare that

World peace is the freedom, peace, and happiness between all nations and people. The two articles,

Most of my point of view of different culture or belief did come from teaching in school when I
took a World Religion course in grade 10. I learn a lot more about other beliefs and cultures more
than usual. It was interesting because most culture have their own traditions that are practically
the same traditions than other cultures. I also learn the ideas from my family and realtives. I do
believe that the students should learn and understand the cultural teachings in school, so that they

Our world is full of corruption; peace between countries is thrown out the window when power takes
charge of everything we know. Because of that, there are issues that are more than difficult to solve–
fighting, protest outbreaks, slaughters in the streets, rebels, countries turning their backs on their

In the song, "Waiting On The World To Change" by John Mayer it explains how our generation is
expecting the people in charge to make changes in the world when in fact, we can be making
changes by just standing up to issues we feel passionate about. John Mayer sings, "Now we see
everything that's going wrong with the world and those who lead it we just feel like we don't
have the means to rise above it and beat it." Again, this quote expresses that young people don't
feel like they have a say to change anything about the world. A second quote says, "Now if we had
the power to bring our neighbors home from war they would have never missed a Christmas no

For example, which countries would one consider practitioners of "free trade?" The United States,
the proverbial torch carrier of open markets and trade liberalization, maintains protectionist policies
in several of its sectors such as agriculture. If we were to succeed in classifying each country
according to its openness in trade, how would we tally their conflicts? Again, in the case of the
United States, this is particularly problematic. Despite the active roles it has played in Korea,

Trade's function in promoting peace or inciting conflict is an issue that exposes the fundamental

addressed by the mercantilist school of thought, which focused on the political (defense–related)
consequences of trade. Because wealth (or the accumulation of gold) was equated with power,
international trade was regarded as a necessary evil, practiced only with the utmost attentiveness to

destructive to society as a whole. By redefining wealth and proclaiming that political influence on
