to 25 weeks old. It is either spontaneous or induced abortion. Abortion refers to the induced type
(Malcolm 1977 page 12).
In developed countries, abortion is legal whereas most developing countries do not encourage and
permit abortion. This brings about the differences in safe and unsafe abortions. Abortion accounts
for over 70,000 maternal deaths worldwide.
Abortion has a long history. In the past, it was done using crude tools such as sharpened tools,
physical trauma and other traditional methods. With advancement in the field of medicine,
contemporary methods are now used and involve the use of medication and surgical procedures
(Nada 1998 page 61).
Each country in the world has different legality, cultural and religious statuses and prevalence of
abortion. The ethical principles towards abortion and removal of pregnancies also vary. Countries
such as the United States of America and Britain have heated politics surrounding the issue of
abortion in pro–life and pro–choice campaigns (Ted 1995 page 66). These are based on the

In my argumentative Essay, I am arguing that abortion is wrong and not to be mistaken with
'Abortion should be made illegal.' I will explain later why I have made this statement.
Abortion is the termination of an unborn child in its mother's womb for up to twenty four weeks of

I now want to look at why disability diagnosis is an inhumane reason for abortion. Disability
diagnosis is the termination of an unborn child because the doctors say that when the baby is born it
will have some kind of disability. I think that every one is unique and should not be murdered for

their arguments backed by ethical and moral theories. The basic dilemma of whether or not abortion
is morally permissible stems from the question of personhood. Personhood entertains the idea of

Abortion is a highly debated topic that has been highly controversial, especially in recent times.
Pro–life, Right To Life, and other anti–abortion groups are fighting to deprive women of a basic
medical procedure that should be available to all women. Abortions should be provided and
available to all women who wish to get them, and even to those who don't.
Peter Singer said it best: "We have no obligation to allow every being with the potential to become
a rational being to realize that potential." What Peter means is that women do not have to carry a
pregnancy to term. At any point, if there are complications, any danger, or threat to the mother, they
should be able to stop it. The fallacy of many arguments is equating the rights of a fetus to those of
a grown woman, whom is obviously more valuable and useful. The retort to that is why should the
fetus' ability to become self–aware and aborting it before it is self–aware make it wrong? Any
rational woman has domain over any being who isn't yet aware of its existence, it is a simple fact.
Although abortion should be a right, the issue is also taxes and how they could help. Over 22
percent of America's taxes goes to cover healthcare. Adding funding for abortion wouldn't cause a
noticeable increase in the cost. The counter for this suggestion is that because a majority of
Americans are against abortion, it is morally wrong to use those taxes to fund abortions for those
who can't afford them. However, the moral argument is invalid due to the issue that taxes taken
from people aren't distributed on the basis of their beliefs or wants. Taxes are paid to the
government, for the government to use, not the taxpayers. The purpose of taxes is to run the
government, and to provide MANY services, including medical care. Abortion falls under this
category that should be covered, in order to help women in need who can't afford to have an

Prior to 1973, abortion was illegal in the United States. The U.S. Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade
is the case that rules that the unborn baby is not a human. The case did happen to try to declare
when the fetus does become a human. The main debate is whether or not the fetus ever becomes a
human and is that human should be protected under the law. Both sides argue that life begins at
conception or life begins at birth, if the first one was proven true, this case if abortion should be
made legal would be solved.
There are 3 types of abortions, spontaneous, medical and surgical. A spontaneous abortion occurs
on it's own without a human intervening to cause it. A medical abortion is caused by a use of a
drug. The drug most commonly used for these types of abortions is called mifepristone. The third

cannot change her mind. Could someone actually live with themselves after the thought of

writes: "A human fetus, after all, is simply a human being at a very early stage in his or her
development." I see this as what a woman thinks during the process of consideration towards
abortion. Lack of care within themselves to even have an abortion on their mind. Some women
are even forced into an abortion decision before they are truly ready. This is not ok because we
are entitled to choose and make decisions and not be forced into something we may regret in the
future. Abortion should not be a thought of consideration to a women is because there are other
options to consider than abortion. One thing is abortion isn't the only choice there are adoptions,
giving it to close family members or friends that are willing to take it under their care. Or plain out
straightforward, taking charge of what you have decided to create. Planned Parenthood's most
recent report states that "From Oct. 1, 2011, to Sept. 30, 2012, the organization performed 327,166
abortions and only 2,197 adoption referrals. That equals just 1 adoption for every 149 abortions."
Clearly, more women choose abortion over adoption, but why? "While adoption and abortion are
