Remember that we use the PRETERITE to:

   tell what happened or ocurred

   tell COMPLETED ACTIONS

   tell when something began or ended



   DO NOT USE THE PRETERITE TO
  DESCRIBE THE SCENE (NARRATION),
   PEOPLE OR EMOTIONAL STATES!
