1. SUMMARY OF OUR WORK:
Introduction
The wish of getting involved in an Educational European Project rose by means
of a partner from another school, which had carried out experiences of this topic. She
awoke our interest in the European dimension of education. So, our first task was to
look for a School which could coordinate this project with other partners.
The central idea of our project is to incorporate the European dimension of the
educational system to our school community.
In the educational system we have made possible a new perspective to educate
our students in favour of peace, solidarity, pluralism, freedom, intercultural aspects and
values transmission.
Aims:
We could point out the followings:
Promoting knowledge of the different cultures of the European
associated countries.
Encouraging the contact and relationship among the students from the
different countries by means of exchanging didactic materials.
Favouring the basic communicative competence in those languages.
Promoting respect and tolerance values.
Developing the necessary capability to be able to act outside our
boundaries.
In short, promoting the education in the European citizens, favouring the cultural
integration and being able to appreciate the differences among countries, being
conscious of a common, historical and cultural background.
In this project, we have tried to make our students discover through different
researches and topics that we have studied with them about a cultural identity in relation
both to the own values of every country and those of the European community shown
thanks to the discovery of aspect of the life and history shared by all of them.

2. METHODOLOGY.
The project was included in the School Annual Plan so that the School
Community could know it and could get a compromise with it.
We designed these activities to be made in the class, but in some cases we had to
do them out of the teaching schedule, always with the student’s participation and some
students’ mothers.
In order to facilitate these activities in our school, we have worked in our mother
tongue, but in the mail among students we have used English.
The methodology has varied according to the activities and the participants’ ages and
needs, draws, games, murals investigation works, summaries, manual crafts…
The means have been:
Email exchanges among teachers, achieving a linguistic enrichment and creating
personal bows.
Work exchanges about a common topic, allowing us to get to know and
appreciate the other countries culture and facilitating the investigation.
Teacher meetings in order to trace the project in the different associated
countries evaluating the work that we are doing and proposing new targets.
Students communication made by mail contacts.
EVALUATION
We have carried out the evaluation in the different country schools participating in this
project during this school year. Together we have examined the programmed activities
suitability, the difficulties we have had, participation, motivation and the participants’
satisfaction level, the works made, the means and materials used, the project influence
in the school, as well as the project diffusion and the mothers’ compromise.
Our evaluation:
European dimension. The work we have carried out in the different schools has
let us create real bows among students and teachers . The different meetings
among teachers have made us discover and compare our different ways of living
and working. A sincere relationship has been created around the same study
subject.
We can state that the European dimension has become part of our School
Project, thus contributing to the curriculum enlargement. It has allowed the
school to discover new possibilities, it has also promoted and strengthen the
education in values and contributed to the teachers training.
Students’ involvement. The fact of making researches with the purpose
of sharing them with partners from other countries has awoken a real interest.
The motivation has been of great importance.
The school mail has facilitated other languages knowledge and has
greatly contributed to bring near our students to the students from other schools.
3. The work of each group about the project topics and contents has been very
positive. Our students have deepened in our heritage study as well as have been
discovering the other associated countries equivalent heritages. They have been
able to feel the closeness and richness of being different. They have been very
active in the search of documents, composing texts and the presentation of
works, also promoting the use of the communication new technologies in the
classroom. The evaluation carried out by the students is highly positive.
Teachers’ involvement. Certainly, not all the teachers have been
involved in the same way . Educational levels, at first not very motivated, have
got more involved after the teachers’ meetings in the different countries.
The teamwork, due to this project, has grown. Planning, on the other
hand, has been appropriate, facilitating in this way the proposed aims
achievement.
In the same way we have confirm the language is not an obstacle because
we have been able to communicate among all of us without much difficulty.
Our teaching activity has improved very much. Our practice as teachers
has improved immensely. It’s important that the project be carried out in our school
so that it can be realized in those most effective manner.
Parent’s participation. They could know the importance and richness of
this project about the educational process by the different works exposed.
Their collaboration has been very important.
Diffusion. From the first moment we thought about the possibility of
publishing our work results showing the characteristics of every community,
allowing us thus to leave sign of the effort made by teachers, students and
parents. This year we are making a common web with all works of each
country, also we have uploaded our works to “ Blog: Comeniusjupiter”, and et
winning.
Results:
The European Project has enlarged the Curricular School Project and
represented for the majority of us our first contact with teachers and students from other
countries and languages. It has meant a great personal enrichment, apart from other
cultures real knowledge. All this has contributed to a more vivid acknowledgement of
our own identity and of diversity as a value that we have to consider.
The European consciousness has also stimulated the feeling of belonging to the
same group with different history, customs and traditions, but very closed and shared by
common communication ties through Centuries y by the continuous ideas exchange.
We must also point out as of great importance, the students awareness of how
important is the knowledge of languages as means of communication.
In the same way, the European Project has stimulated the educational innovation
in the school and has fomented teamwork. The excellent personal relationships among
the participating teachers, with a huge experiences exchange has meant an important
professional enrichment..
We have use various didactic supports and instruments to complete the works.
