1. Proposal
What type of photography are you going to produce? I am going to produce a piece of fine art
photography. I will take fairly simple photographs and edit them and distort them extensively. The
main subject for this project must be Discovery, though I am going to focus of themes of
Technology, discovering what technology can do to our perception of reality. Another theme I will
focus on is things or people far away, discovering features that go unnoticed from a distance.
What contexts could this type of photography be used in? Fine art photography could be used for
display in an art gallery, or perhaps in a book. It cannot be used for much else though as fine art
photography is purely to express the artist’s feelings, and to provoke feelings in the audience. As
with one of my main influences Michael Wolf, my work could be displayed in the Flowers Gallery in
London. They display many different aft forms in their gallery, including fine art photography.
Who are your influences for this project? My main influences are Michael Wolf and Rob Sheridan.
Michael Wolf is a fine art photographer who takes photos of similar content to what I would like to
photograph also, and uses similar techniques. Rob Sheridan is a photographer and graphic
designer who creates distorted and broken images using technology, similarly to what I would like
to do to my images.
What will you subjects be for this project? My photographs will feature different peoples facial
expressions, and objects natural and man made. Objects I may photograph could include litter,
lamp posts and other technology found on the street, animals and trees.

2. What techniques will you use? I will use the zoom on my camera a lot to capture features close
up from far away. I may make the colour settings on the camera bluer, or just duller. I might
upload the image to a computer and take a photograph of that image, using that as my final image
as it will create distortion. I will try to edit the HTML of the image to break the image and distort it
more. I will find the people and objects on the street; I will not be producing models or props.
