2. OPENING AFFIRMATION
Divine Truth, realizing in me,
Demonstrating through me, and
Manifesting in my life,
With ease and grace today.
I am thankful, I am blessed.

3. “In true prayer we take with us words of Truth …
an affirmation, and turn our attention within to
the very center of our being … We affirm these
words of Truth and meditate on them, then get
very still and wait in the silence for God to make
them real to us.” Charles Fillmore

True Prayer
4. “Affirmative prayer is not about asking an
external deity for things or to fix situations in our
lives. The primary benefit is more the realization
of Oneness and Divine Ideas”
Rev. Paul Hasselbeck

Affirmative Prayer
6. The physical and mental preparation for being in
the Silence: get relaxed, calm and quiet. The
subsiding of sense consciousness and the rising
of higher awareness. The releasing of physical
and mental blocks to the awareness of
Oneness.

Unity: Relaxation
7. ”Concentrated attention of the mind on an idea
of any kind is equal to prayer and will make
available the spiritual principle that is its source
in proportion to the intensity and continuity of the
mental effort.” Charles Fillmore

Unity: Concentration
8. “Meditation is the process of our conscious
intention to gain awareness of Oneness … the
process that invites the Silence. It is from the
Silence that we are inspired with Divine Ideas. “
Rev. Paul Hasselbeck

Unity: Meditation
9. “As we rest in the Silence, there is nothing - not
time, space, sensation or awareness; it is a state
of total non awareness. We are “just this side of
the Silence” when we become aware of Divine
Ideas and Divine Inspiration.”
Rev. Paul Hasselbeck

Unity: Silence
10. “As you come out of the Silence, count your
blessings and give thanks for them … Praise
and thanksgiving impart the quickening spiritual
power that produces growth and increases all
things.” Charles Fillmore

Unity: Thanksgiving
11. The objective of prayer is the realization of
Divine Ideas in the consciousness of the
individual. Realization is experienced as the
feeling of a deep inner conviction and assurance
of the fulfillment of that idea.

Unity: Summary
12. Know that God is all there is.
We begin every Spiritual Mind Treatment with
Recognition that there is One Life, and that Life is
God. You may call God by any other name that
makes It clear and personal to you, such as: Spirit,
Universe, Allah, Buddha, Infinite Mind, the One, the
Force, Light, or any other term that feels real to you.

SOM: Recognition
13. Know that you are one with God.
In the Unification step of Spiritual Mind Treatment, we
affirm that the same Spirit that God is, we are. We
are OF God – Divine emanations. Since God is all
there is, there can be nothing outside of God, and no
one separate from God. And so we realize and
declare our Oneness as spiritual beings.

SOM: Unification
14. State your word for the circumstance you want
to manifest. In Step 3 of your Spiritual Mind
Treatment, you want to Realize the qualities or
attributes of God which you want to embrace within
yourself–to call forth in your own consciousness.
These are the Divine qualities inherent within you
which want to become more conscious OF.

SOM: Declaration
15. Give thanks for your word being acted upon by
the Law of mind. Step 4 of your Spiritual Mind
Treatment is Thanksgiving. An attitude of gratitude is
essential to establishing a new intention in our
lives. In giving thanks, we are declaring that it is
already done. We are grateful for it. It is so.

SOM: Thanksgiving
16. “And so it is!”
In Step 5, the Release step of your Spiritual Mind
Treatment, you let go and let God. You are turning
your affirmative declaration of Truth entirely over to
Infinite Love, Spirit, the Allness that is God. It is a
very important step, because as long as you hold on
to it, nothing can take place.

17. ”Effective mental treatment is propelled by a
consciousness of love and a realization that the
Creative spirit is always at work … A treatment
should be given in a calm, expectant manner and
with a deep inner conviction of its reality … The work
is effective because the Law is always in operation.”
Ernest Holmes

SOM: Summary
18. “We do not pray to God, rather we pray from a
consciousness of Oneness … Prayer is self-
realization, self-expansion. It is getting centered
within, and reestablishing ourselves in the flow of
infinite creative process.” Eric Butterworth

Prayer and Self-realization
19. “At some level all thoughts are prayers … we are
always laying hold of Divine Ideas and manifesting
them according to our level of consciousness … as
we leaner to source every thought, word and deed
from the awareness of Oneness, we become
intentional about our prayer.” Rev. Paul Hasselbeck

Pray Without Ceasing
20. “As you learn to see the fullness of God’s life and
power in (yourself and) others, you will know that you
need not pour out your own for them. You will have
the knowledge and the light to call their attention to
what they have and to prompt them to use it.”
