How do the make comparative sentences using as?
EXERCISES ABOUT COMPARISONS
By: Alexandra Díaz
How do we make the comparative and superlative
of adjectives that end in –Y, like friendly? And
others
 We make comparative and superlative of adjectives
that end in –Y, like friendly, and other adjectives,
therefore when an adjective end in Greek y we change
the “Greek y” for “Latin i”. For example:
By Claudia Vallejo
How do we make the comparative and
superlative of long adjectives, like beautiful?
By Yudi Polo
What happens to good, bad and far in the
comparative and superlative?
 This words are irregular adjectives, in their superlative
and comparative form, they change totally their form
How do we make the comparative and
superlative of a short adjective like tall?
Adjective tall
Comparative form
Luisa is taller than Mary
Superlative form
I have three brothers, Marco is the tallest.
Comparative adjectives
are used to compare
differences between the
two objects they modify
(larger, taller). They are
used in sentences where
two nouns are compared
Superlative adjectives are
used to describe an object
which is at the upper or
lower limit of a quality (the
tallest, the smallest). They
are used in sentences
where a subject is
compared to a group of
objects.

Ipiales
By Claudia Vallejo
 I live in Ipiales since that I was
born, Ipiales belongs to the
department of Nariño, it is
located in south of Colombia, it
has 123.341 inhabitants, It is
airport and land border because
it is located on the border with
the Republic of Ecuador,
therefore the inhabitants of
Ipiales have as important
economic activities, with intense
international trade, small
businesses, tourism; and in rural
areas: agriculture and livestock.
 To seven kilometers from Ipiales is located the most
beautiful sanctuary of America “Las Lajas” belongs to
Ipiales, is a place very religious, “las Lajas” is visited for
many people; in September celebrates the feast of the
Virgin of the “las Lajas” each year, the most people that
visit the sanctuary say that they have received many
miracles of Virgin. Popular celebrations:
 More populars are youth carnival (second January),
multicolored border Carnival ( January third ) ,
children carnival ( four January) and Carnival of
Blacks and Whites (five and six January ), Festival the
municipality ( October twenty-three ) , and pageant,
and burning years old (December thirty first ).
Typical food
 The guinea pig with
potatoes and chili pepper,
if you prefer can drink
beer too.
By Claudia Vallejo
Pasto is the capital of the department of Nariño; it’s
located in the south of Colombia, Pasto is a very
religious city, you can find many pretties and interesting
places to visit, such as the majestic Sanctuary of Nuestra
Señora de Las Lajas and the lake La Cocha, I consider my
city is the coldest place in Colombia, most people wear
warm clothing like a scarf, shelter and boots.
Near to my city we have one volcano called Galeras is located
a few kilometers from the city of Pasto, this is one of the
Colombia’s most frequently active volcanoes. Crafts are an
important tradition in Pasto, leather; ceramics and wood
constitute the historical legacy of the city. The best time to
visit my city is during the black and white carnival in this
celebration you can find parades, dancers and musicians,
thousands of people come from all over the country; maybe
this event is the most popular in Colombia.
By Christian Tabla
 Welcome to Pasto -Colombia
 Pasto is a city of Colombia, capital of the department of Nariño. Pasto
has been cultural and religious administrative center of the region since
colonial times. known as "the surprise city of Colombia”
 By her charms, is called "theological City" Pasto is one of the places
where there are more religious temples for these reasons is viable enjoy
their wide religious and ecological tourism, you can visit temples in the
city or usually sanctuary Nuestra señora de las Lajas, which is the most
visited by tourists and churchgoer In the city surprise you can enjoy its
great Nariñense landscapes like the laguna verde, laguna of cumbal,
enjoy carnivals black and white habits of the region which reflects the
arrival of the family castañeda colorful comparsas where the city
becomes bejeweled with important festivals and events in the region of
the department.

THE COMPARISON OR COMPARISONS MADE
ABOUT THE CITIES
 Ipiales is shorter that Pasto,
so Pasto city is capital of
department of Nariño, also
Ipiales is colder that Pasto,
with regard beautiful
sanctuary of America “Las
Lajas” Ipiales is nearer las
Lajas that Pasto city, so it is
to seven kilometers from
Ipiales. Pasto and Ipiales have
much in common about of
carnivals white and blacks, so
this party is celebrated in
same dates in January. Also
share some features with
regard clothing, so most
people wear warm clothing
like a scarf, shelter and boots.
The trade from Ipiales is
better that Pasto, so Ipiales is
nearer of frontier with
Republic Ecuador
Ipiales- Pasto
By Claudia Vallejo
 Pasto – Ipiales
 Ipiales is colder that Pasto as is a land of high we stopped.
 The city of Ipiales is visited by the sanctuary of Lajas; Pasto
attracts many tourists for its large of black and white carnival;
Ipiales consume more the guinea pig than in Pasto as typical
food of your region.
 In Sandona equal that Pasto, Ipiales also celebrate the carnival
of blacks and whites so that in Pasto is the largest celebration as
it is the capital of Nariño
 Sotomayor and Sandona are regions warm not as in Ipiales that
is cold ; Where both live of the agricultural production is as
good as Pasto that markets its products.
By Yudi Polo
THE COMPARISON OR COMPARISONS MADE
ABOUT THE CITIES.
Pasto vs Sandoná
In Sandoná, it is also celebrated the Blacks and Whites’ Carnival as well as in the capital, but
in Pasto, it is the best because it allows to see many and many crafts, diversity of
representations and culture, in change here, there are a very few floats and it is really
smaller. Although in Pasto is developed the most interesting Carnival than any other
surrounding small town, I prefer enjoy it here in Sandona because I like to be with my family
and friends and also because, in here is more peaceful than Pasto.
Ipiales vs Pasto
Reading your contribution, I can refer that Ipiales is colder than Pasto, I think so, because I
have been over there and by the way, in a raining day. But it is great, you have the
opportunity to go to Las Lajas whenever you want, because it is closer from Ipiales than from
Pasto, it sounds good.
Sotomayor vs Sandoná
Sotomayor is warm around 24 degrees and comparing it with Sandoná, Sotomayor is warmer
than Sandoná because it is warm but just around 19 degrees however in your hometown is
also cultivated the plantain as well as in Sandoná and I can say, too, that from the capital
“Pasto” Sotomayor is farther than Sandoná. By: Alexandra Díaz
