very excited. The ranger drove them around the park. The
park was very big and beautiful. There were many animals
at the safari. They saw some giraffes and a few elephants.
They were very happy to see the giraffes and

wanted to show the photographs to his friends at school.
The visitors did not walk towards the animals. The ranger
stopped the jeep so they could watch the animals.
Two leopards jumped on the jeep. The visitors were
shocked. The leopards rested on the jeep. Later, they
walked away.
STEP 2: Add time phrases.

stopped the jeep so they could watch the animals.
Two leopards jumped on the jeep. The visitors were
shocked. The leopards rested on the jeep for a while. Later,
they walked away.
STEP 3: Add connectors.

WRITING SIMPLE
INTRODUCTION AND
CONCLUSION
Let’s turn the paragraphs into a complete narrative
essay!
An introduction…
• describes the main character,
• describes the place (setting) or
• describes the event.
You don’t have to write about all of the above.
Choose one!
Describe the main character.
• Important: The description must be related to the story!
Example:
Nazri likes to travel. He likes animals
and nature very much.
• Put the introduction at the beginning of your story.
You may write a conclusion…
• by describing the characters’ feelings (after what has
happened),
• by describing how it ends or
• with a moral value.
Again, you don’t have to write about all of the above.
You may choose just one!
Describe the characters’ feelings.
• Important: The description must be related to the story!
Example:
In the evening, Nazri and his family
went home. They were all very tired but
happy.
• Put the conclusion at the end of your story.
THE FINAL PRODUCT…
…the narrative essay!
Nazri likes to travel. He likes animals and nature very
much.
Last Saturday, Nazri and his family went to the safari.
Nazri was very excited. The ranger drove them around the park.
The park was very big and beautiful. There were many animals
at the safari. They saw some tall giraffes and a few huge
elephants.
They were very happy to see the giraffes and elephants.
Nazri quickly took photographs of the animals. He wanted to
show the photographs to his friends at school. The visitors did
not walk towards the animals. Therefore, the ranger stopped the
jeep so they could watch the animals.
Suddenly, two friendly leopards jumped on the jeep. The
visitors were shocked. The leopards rested on the jeep for a
while. Later, they walked away.
In the evening, Nazri and his family went home. They
were all very tired but happy.

  • 23. WRITING SIMPLE INTRODUCTION AND CONCLUSION Let’s turn the paragraphs into a complete narrative essay!
  • 24. An introduction… • describes the main character, • describes the place (setting) or • describes the event. You don’t have to write about all of the above. Choose one!
  • 25. Describe the main character. • Important: The description must be related to the story! Example: Nazri likes to travel. He likes animals and nature very much. • Put the introduction at the beginning of your story.
  • 26. You may write a conclusion… • by describing the characters’ feelings (after what has happened), • by describing how it ends or • with a moral value. Again, you don’t have to write about all of the above. You may choose just one!
  • 27. Describe the characters’ feelings. • Important: The description must be related to the story! Example: In the evening, Nazri and his family went home. They were all very tired but happy. • Put the conclusion at the end of your story.
