1. Meen Puli Kozhumbu
Ingredients:
500 gms Mackeralor LadyFish
15 gms Red Chilli powder
10 gms Coriander powder
5 gms cumin seeds
5 gms Cumin powder
2 Sprig Curry Leaves
5 gms Fenugreek seeds
15 gms Ginger garlic paste
5 nos Dry Red chillies
5 gms Mustard seeds
200 gmsShallots
Salt to taste
50 ml Sesame seed oil
100 ml Tamarind pulp
200 gmsTomato puree
3 gms Turmeric powder
20 gms Garlic, whole
Method :
Heat sesame oil in a pan and when it is hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,
whole red chillies, little fenugreek seeds, garlic, curry leaves, onion paste and
turmeric. Mix well and cook for a minute.
2. Add ginger garlic paste and sautรฉ until the raw flavoursare gone. Once the
masala is cooked, add chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder,tomato
puree, little water, tamarind juice and cook for about30 minutescovering the
pot with a lid.
Add fish, put on the lid and cook for another 5 minutes on simmer. Serve with
hot rice.
