The production companies’ logo or name will be shown at the beginning. Usually introduces the main character(s) and provides any previous knowledge needed. E.g. a past event may be shown so you can relate to the characters relationships and emotions. It will also set the scene. Location, year, etc..
3. A good example of these conventions is Bad Boys. The film starts with credits telling us; the production team and who is starring in the film. It then introduces the two main characters and their personalities. Following this, the scene provides information into their occupations and it reveals the situation they are in. 4. The Hangover opening scene is a future scene in the film and the film then leads to that moment. This can create tension and anxiety when watching the film. The shot has nearly all the main characters apart from Dug who is not seen much but is still a main part. 5. James Bond films always start with action involving the main character. Quantom of Solace is no different. It starts with a car chase which introduces the main character as the focal point and also the situation he faces. This builds up tension for the rest of the film. 6. In the Hot Fuzz opening scene, credits of the production company are shown and we are introduced to the main character through a form of identification. We also know where the scene is set because as the opening scene develops we enter an office of which is evidently for the metropolitan police. Like on most films, there is also a big piece of news to how the character got to where they are as we see them for the majority of time.
