1. Transforming student learning through online technology
I think we should encourage Online learning through use of social media because that’s a good
marketplace for youth and for learning purposes, Learners should spend most of their lives
accessing free education online than any other thing.
Learners must use the same cheaper soft wares like those used by social media site to study with
other learners from the comfort of their homes.
Learners should be advised to form study groups. I would like to see a development of a software
which can operate like Microsoft word, when opened on a computer it has about 4 slabs of
writing and every learner can occupy his block and start working and do their sums and
answering of questions and all in the group can see doings, as this encourages support among
learners. They can all do a sum/answering a question together at a same time. USB modern
should be connected to computers for a learner to be connected.
And the cost should be the same as of opera-mini. In this system learners will need to come up
with a unique group name and register their group on a database, they can just lock in with their
student numbers, and this process will lead each of them to the activation of his account and be
able to work in their group account.
And the group should not consist of bright student only; they should be grouped in the following;
according to their different subject brilliance, E.g. If you put a group of five students each one
must be good at a different subject, in a group of 5 one must be good in mathematics, 2. Physical
science. 3. English, 4.geography, 5. Biological science and 5. Computer Science. This software
must come out with loaded digital maps, learning tools and materials e.g. it should have all the
important learning symbols of every high school subject,
When a learner opens the software it will 1st ask him/her which subject is he/she going to study
and they can click whichever subject, and it will automatically load important learning materials
regarding that particular subject for example if you click on geography content you will have
access to digital map ETC.
Perhaps encourage learners not to form a full group from the same class, for instance if the group
consists of four students 2 should be from same class and the other two from a different class.
Furthermore,
I think of a digital pen (when connected on a computer operates like a keyboard but enables you
to write on a normal page and this pen recognizes every word and number/sign you write and
directly sends it to a word page on your computer and what you write can be seen by everyone in
the group, a learner can see how others complete a sum/sentence etc, and they can be able to
maximize who’s ever page they want to pay attention to) the digital pen technology enables will
have handwriting recognition technology via the keyboard’s words, signs and numbers.
When you write on a page whatever you write using a computer connected digital pen it can send
every word to your computer word page, the pen works as a keyboard and it will recognize the
words you write on a normal paper and transmit it to the word page on your screen, this
technology can be used by learners.
And if one is having a hard time he/she has an advantage of learning from others... Once the
2. learner feels tired he can close his screen and others can see which one is active and inactive,
they can call each other set up times of studying and chatting together.
Hardworking learners with good results should sometimes receive free airtime, especially the
poor.
Let’s create educational environments that are inspiring, and such technology should have its
own cheaper airtime so that learners can use it for good purpose and subsidy by government
should apply especially to poor learners.
Let’s be honest we cannot ignore use of technology, the world is controlled by technology and
this is growing, technology will make the world an easy place and it’s going to be a basic need
and very affordable to everyone.
