  2. 2. How did Latinas identify themselves in this study? • It was a successful outcome these women were successful in their careers and gave a positive influence on their everyday lives.
  3. 3. Please describe the methods in this study. • They did a mixed method approach with 30 survey responses and four interviews with two public school principles including two assistant principles. As well as gathering information from Latina administrators of varied ethnicities.
  4. 4. What were the barriers noted in this study? • Discrimination on the basis of race during the screening and selection interview process. • The negative perceptions by colleagues because of the already low numbers of Latinas. • A preference for white administrators, teachers, and community.
  5. 5. What were the conclusions? • A positive contribution made by Latinas in the field should promote and develop practices for aspiring Latina education leaders in schools across the United States. • An urgent need to disrupt the dominance which is being promoted in public school leaderships as exclusive for persons of the majority culture.
  6. 6. What would you suggest as a remedy to the challenges faced by these women? • To motivate each other get one another excited about what we can do for our generation and those who will be here after us.
