Blue-collar jobs are the most sought after job by people of every background especially with those with good
educational qualifications but lower economic backgrounds. It is quite unfortunate to say that, the probability of
such individuals of getting involved in crime is much higher. From petty theft cases that rise out of sheer desperation
in adolescence, to being associated with a gang due to peer pressure, there have been reported cases of blue-
collared employees to have criminal records. Some of such crimes get buried with time and can only be traces with
a criminal record check or police database check
Since it is the time and age when competition is very high, the numbers of jobs are also growing scarce, so it is not
uncommon for people to try and hide unfavorable crime records from their pasts. Prospective employees hide their
records of criminal past, either to get the job or with the intention of conning the company and its customers. So in
order to avoid putting the business, employees and the customers at risk, a Police verification of every prospective
hire is very essential.

What Crimes Can Be Prevented By Police Record Check?
Just few months back the Tribune published a report that a driver of a school allegedly abused a six-year-old
girl sexually. There would hardly be anyone who would want something like this to happen to their own or their
acquaintance child. If police verification had been performed in the driver before hiring him it would surly have
shown results of a criminal past which could have stopped hiring him preventing the incident to take place at all.
The case is same with hiring domestic helps, personal chauffeurs, factory employees and even blue
collared employees who have access to highly confidential data. As a recruiter you must be absolutely sure that the
person you have selected does not have any tainted past. It is very difficult to guess if a candidate is at all saying the
truth to you about their physical and professional details, so guessing a police record without conducting police
verification is impossible.
According to the research studies there has been a huge increase in the crime rates and predictions are there
for an even increased crime rate. However if we notice even more keenly we will be able to see that a police record
