What’s it?
What do we mean by a non-genuine Tweet?
It is a tweet wrote by a person or a computer:
• To post links to phishing or malware sites
• To advertise whatever irrelevant regarding the
subject
• To improve Web positioning on the Internet (SEO)
• To change opinion about something
• To create trending topics trying to grab attention
• To trick social media metering tools
• …

6. iPhone case
Companies need to know the evolution of their social reputation. Analysing tweets
along the time, we are able to detect in which circumstances the popularity of the
brand, products, companies… artificially increases, why the non-genuine data comes up
and whether these fake tweets are generated to benefit or damage.

7. Apple products case
Companies wish to know whether their brands are mentioned in the social networks
and compare their awareness with other brands. As one can see in the following
plots, once FACODE has been executed, the difference with the original data could be of
relevance and change the correct stats.
