Helping in Our Church
These times are very difficult for our Church and the provision of
services. Sincere thanks to the few members of our Folk Choir who
alternate and help at our Masses. Also, to the Altar Society who keep
the Church looking well for the week and our Parish Counters who are
available if necessary.
Facing the New Reality – Our Church
We as a Community in Carraroe are facing the new reality for our
Church in the coming months. As physical distancing at the moment
has to be maintained in the Church we will be closing off some seats and
allocating space for seating to others. Obviously this will reduce the
number of people in the Church depending on groups or single people.
We will also open the Community Centre which may be more suitable
for families. Sanitisers will be available at the main doors. We are
looking at using the main door for entry and the side door for exit. A
similar systemwill apply to the Community Centre. We will be looking
for people from our Parish to help with setting up this new systemand
people who will help with sanitation in the Church after Mass.
Obviously we also have the outdoor speaker at the back of our Church
and we can be reached on any car radio at 107FM. Holy Communion
will be provided in a specific area and we are looking at its distribution
at the moment. Signs will be provided in and around the Church. The
Sunday collection can be put into baskets which will be available at the
back and side door. Readers and a reduced number of Eucharistic
Minsters will be required for each Mass. The Parish Choir that we have
known and loved will not be returning in the immediate future. We will
be looking at the reality of some Parishioners coming to a morning
Mass insteadof the Weekend. This is a trial and error time for all of us,
but the ground work will be set in the interest of our safety. Finally,
this is a very difficult time for all of us and the changes are drastic and
demanding, but like all Churches we have no choice at the moment. Full
details will be available as the week’s progress.
Healing Prayer: Oh wondrous God, we reach out to you,
with this, our prayer, asking to be used as channels for your Divine
Power To flow through us, unrestricted, In a stream of radiant light
Into our world, where the human race is suffering This terrible blight
of the coronavirus. Allow us this day to be the instruments of Thy Holy
Power So that this radiant, healing power may help to transmute this
deadly virus and bring strength, regeneration, healing and inspiration
to humanity as a whole.
