Introducing Christian Meditation to Children and Young People
The day will be of particular interest to teachers and parents. It will take a practical,
hands–on approach and participants will leave with the knowledge of how to
introduce the practice to children in a straightforward and deeply meaningful way.
Led by Dr. Noel Keating, it will be held on Friday 23rd
February at Star of the Sea

North West Hospice
International Singing sensation The Willoughby Brothers will take to the stage at
Sligo Park Hotel on Friday 2nd of February all in aid of North West Hospice. Doors
will open at 7pm with the show starting at 8pm. All proceeds will go to North West
Hospice.

who worked in Africa and the U.S. brother of Brendan O' Connor whose
funeral took place in Kiltegan on Saturday.
Also Norah Byrne, Doorly Park, Borrisokane, Tipperary, whose funeral took
place in St. Anne's on Wednesday. May they rest in peace.

Open day for those starting in September 2018 will take place on

Digital Skills -Sligo Leader Partnership Ltd
Digital Skills is a basic internet computer class run for people with no or a limited
knowledge of the internet. It is a 10 hour course which takes place over 5 two-hourly
sessions in centres across Sligo Town and county.
It is aimed at helping those people to develop their basic internet browsing skills
Pro-Life Mass
On Thursday 1st February 2018 (Feast Day of St. Brigid, Patron Saint of Babies)
there will be Mass celebrated for the protection of the 8th Amendment in St. John's
church, Carraroe, Sligo @ 7.00pm.
Please join us for this very special evening whilst invoking one of our great Irish
saints.
Parish Retirement
Our Sacristans Evelyn and Martin Scanlon and retiring after many years of faithful
service to our Parish Community. A Mass of thanksgiving for service in the Parish
followed by refreshments in the Community Centre will take place on 16th February
beginning at 7pm. Invitation envelope included with Newsletter and available at the
back and side door for catering purposes.
Mindfulness Meditation
The team in Galilee would like to invite you to experience mindfulness meditation on
Monday evening from 7:00 to 7:45PM. You will be guided in each session to
slowdown , let go and begin the process of stillness. All age groups are welcome.
First session for 2018 is on February 5th

Bringing the Scripture Alive - Galilee Community
We gather around the fire on Thursday evenings to increase our knowledge of the
Bible and to discover together how it can influence life today.
We will be starting back on the 1st
of February.

World Meeting of Families 2018
In just under 9 months’ time, Ireland will host the World Meeting of Families.

August) and all under 18 are free of charge. The WMOF2018 team are

Reclaiming Tax on Your Donation - Form sent Out
Tax forms have been sent out in the post last week for all the parishioners
who are eligible. Please fill in the following:
Your PPS number (Please print clearly)
Sing the Form You can return the from via the Sunday Collection, to the
sacristy or Presbytery. So far 74 forms have been returned. If you receive a form,
please return it to us ASAP.
Tobernalt Holy Well
Throughout the year we are invited to the Holy Well to reflect and pray on
this sacred soil. The Stations of the Cross and the Mysteries of the Rosary
are on the grounds for prayer and reflection.
