Alaska is an icy cold place nicknamed
“ The Last Frontier “. Besides Hawaii,
Alaska is the only state that borders no
other U.S. states. Alaska's population is
732,298 and it is the biggest state in
land area!

The state motto of Alaska is
“North to the Future”
The capital city is Juneau and even
though it has a population of around
31,000 , it still is larger than the state of
Rhode island! The state's national sport is
dog mushing.

 The Alaskan flag was
made by Benny
Benson from Seward in
a 1927 flag contest. He
used 8 gold stars in the
shape of the big dipper
with a navy backround.

 Alaska has many symbols, such as the state
flower, known as the Forget-me-not. Also we
have the Sitka Spruce, the Willow Ptarmigan,
the Four-spot Skimmer Dragonfly, and the flag.
the national gem is jade and the mineral is gold.

Alaska has many geographical
landmarks such as the Yukon River,
the Copper River, the Becharof
Lake, the Clark Lake, and a gigantic
mountain named Mt. McKinley!

famous people such as Virgil F. Partch,
cartoonist, Joe Juneau, prospector, and
Sydney Lawrence, painter.

The ten major industries of Alaska are
timber, oil, gold, fur, fishing, hunting,
tourism, government, transportation,
and scientific research. Alaska's
industry also includes lots of seafood.

10. Government
Alaska is a republican state depending on
its selling of natural resources ( mostly
seafood) to have a good economy. It has a
government very much like the united states
including the three branches of government,
and they have a leader, Sean Parnell.

11. Famous or historical events
Here are 5 famous events in Alaska
that happened around 1798-1989. the
1867 purchase of Alaska by the U.S,
the first Alaskan gold rush, the 1912
declaration as a territory, the Japanese
invasion in 1942, and the discovery of
oil in 1964.

12. Conclusion
I think that Alaska would be a very nice
place to live because of the historic
landmarks, the orderly government, and the
proud history. Also Alaska is actually really
different from Florida, but we still have some
similarities that keep us together.
