students, though depression, too, is on the rise. More
than half of students visiting campus clinics cite
anxiety as a health concern . . . Nearly one in six

disappointment, even some failure
is normal. Teach our members that
if they have a good, miserable day
once in while, or several in a row, to
stand steady and face them. Things
will straighten out. There is a great
purpose in our struggle in life.

Challenges are growth experiences,

The Final Therefore!
The World’s Happiness Trap:
1. When we seek happiness by spending hours of our time being
entertained mindlessly on social media, binge watching
television, or gaming – we will be depressed.
2. Often that depression is amplified as our social media world
makes it so easy to compare our lives and circumstances with all
the “happy” people around us.
3. Sometimes when we are depressed, we just go back to our
devices to momentarily distract us from our sadness.
4. When we indulge in a constant review of news and all the bad
that might happen, we will likely have some fear.
5. When we become self-absorbed in “what if” thinking, we will
have anxiety.
6. And finally, the Band-Aid quick fix’s provided by the world run
the peril of some levels of addiction.
Finding PEACE and JOY!
1.Productive people are happy people
2.Those who have a “reason” bigger than
themselves are usually so busy acting on that
thing they value; they don’t have time to worry
3.When our productivity, service, and efforts are
focused on others, rather than ourselves we have
PEACE, and
4.When we put the Savior first and try to become
like him, we will have JOY

When we seek happiness by spending hours of our time being entertained mindlessly on social media, binge watching television, or gaming – we will be depressed. 2. Often that depression is amplified as our social media world makes it so easy to compare our lives and circumstances with all the “happy” people around us. 3. Sometimes when we are depressed, we just go back to our devices to momentarily distract us from our sadness. 4. When we indulge in a constant review of news and all the bad that might happen, we will likely have some fear. 5. When we become self-absorbed in “what if” thinking, we will have anxiety. 6. And finally, the Band-Aid quick fix’s provided by the world run the peril of some levels of addiction.
