4. Why Learn About This? To educate the public of the continued injustice women face in college and the workplace. To let the world know it is up to us to change it.

6. "Study after study has taught us that there is no tool more effective for development than the empowerment of women” --UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan (World Education 2011).

10. On The Contrary Adecco Group’s American Workplace Insights Survey discovered that more than three quarters of women are working because they have to, not because they want to (Well Woman Blog 2011).

12. The Gender Issue: “Qualified women aren’t really taken as seriously as their male colleagues.” –– Alice Adams, former Director of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Maine Farmington (Harrin 2010).

13. The Struggle at Work (Cont’d) The Wage Gap Women earn 77 cents for every dollar men earn (Willson 2010). See figure 1 on next slide. Ironically, more women hold advanced degree (Willson 2010).

18. Make a change?Despite their struggles: **Since 1920, women enrollment increased from 7.6% (Early College Women) to 43% in 2005 (Mathers and Dia 2011)** Make it mean something! Make the workplace an equal and fair environment for men and women!
