On May 26th, 2015, Monte Wilson of Jacobs Engineering Group and Mark Banta of Piedmont Park Conservancy presented to the board of directors of the Buckhead Community Improvement District a concept of capping the GA400 highway in the central core of Buckead to create a large park, similar to the Klyde Warren Park in Dallas.

36. KLYDE WARREN PARK
Dallas
Klyde Warren Park
The annual operating budget is approximately $3.5 million.
More than half of that money comes from private donors, sponsors,
and concessions.
A small portion of public money comes from the City of Dallas for
maintenance of the deck. The BID contributes just 25% of the budget,
based on a 0.25 mil assessment.
Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation operates the park on behalf of the
City under a 50-year contract.
