ביצירותיהם של אסירי גטו טרזיינשטאט משתקפת התרשמותם של הציירים מסבלם של תושבי ‏הגטו הקשישים. רבות מן היצירות, העוסקות בצפיפות, ברעב, בחולי ובמוות, מתמקדות ‏בדמויות של זקנים וזקנות. הקשישים נראים חולים, מזי רעב, על סף גסיסה ומוות. קשה לאתר ‏בדמויות מחוקות אלה, נטולות צלם אנוש, את בני האדם שהיו פעם.‏ ‏ ‏ התרכזות זו בקשישים עומדת בניגוד ליצירות מגטאות אחרים, ששם הונצחו הסבל ‏והמוות בעיקר בדמויות של ילדים. ברחובות גטו טרזיינשטאט לא ניראו ילדים רעבים בדומה ‏לתמונות של ילדי גטו וורשה. ילדים ונוער עמדו בראש סולם העדיפות של ההנהגה היהודית ‏בגטו. המצוקה הקשה ביותר היתה נחלתם של הקשישים, מרביתם יהודים שהגיעו מהרייך

מגמת‎ ‎הגרמנים‎ ‎בכל‎ ‎שלבי‎ ‎התמודדותם‎ ‎עם‎ ‎פתרון‎ ‎השאלה‎ ‎היהודית,‏‎ ‎שניכרה‎ ‎בכל שטחי‎ ‎הכיבוש‎ ‎הגרמני‎ ‎ובמיוחד‎ ‎בעת‎ ‎ביצועו‎ ‎של‎ ‎״הפתרון‎ ‎הסופי", הייתה,‏‎ ‎הקהיית חששות‎ ‎היהודים‎ ‎והסוואת‎ ‎ייעודם‎ ‎של‎ ‎הגירושים‎ ‎וההגליות.‏‎ ‎מטרת‎ ‎מגמה‎ ‎זאת הייתה‎ ‎להסתיר‎ ‎מהקורבנות‎ ‎את‎ ‎האמת‎ ‎על‎ ‎ההשמדה‎ ‎כמעט‎ ‎עד‎ ‎לרגע‎ ‎האחרון‎.‎ הגרמנים‎ ‎השקיעו‎ ‎מאמצים‎ ‎עצומים‎ ‎בתעמולת‎ ‎כזב‎ ‎ובאמצעי‎ ‎הטעייה,‏‎ ‎כדי למנוע‎ ‎ולהפחית‎ ‎פעולות‎ ‎התנגדות‎ ‎יהודיות‎ ‎ולאפשר‎ ‎תהליך‎ ‎שיטתי,‏‎ ‎‏"תעשייתי"‏‎,‎‏ יעיל‎ ‎וזול,‏‎ ‎שיצריך‎ ‎כוחות‎ ‎הפעלה‎ ‎ושמירה‎ ‎מעטים‎ ‎באופן‎ ‎יחסי‎.‎ אחיזת‎ ‎העיניים‎ ‎הנאצית,‏‎ ‎הגיעה‎ ‎לשיאה‎ ‎ביצירת‎ ‎גטו‎ ‎טרזיינשטאט‎ ‎בפרוטקטוראט של‎ ‎בוהמיה‎ ‎ומוראביה (1941 – 1945).‏

"Alfred Kantor - a painted testimony" - part 2 "אלפרד קנטור - עדות מצויירת" חלק שני באישורם של אלפרד קנטור ומשפחתו, הכין צוות בית טרזין, עבור מורים, מדריכים ותלמידים, תערוכה ותכנית חינוכית "זיכרונות בצבע מן האפלה"-עדות מצויירת. התערוכה והתכנית מבוססות על ספרו של קנטור. הספר הוא עדות מצויירת פרי מאמציו של האמן לשמר את שקרה לו ולשותפיו לגורל בתקופת השואה. קנטור שמר את אסופת הציורים ואותה התכוון לחלוק רק עם בני משפחתו. בשנת 1971 הודפס הספר שאליו צירף את סיפורו האישי וכן הערות נוספות לתמונות. הוא צייר כדי לחדור אל הפרטים ולשנן אותם. לא הייתה לו אפשרות לשמור את הציורים. התרשים שעל הניר היה רק כלי, טיוטה. העותק המקורי, החשוב באמת, נצרב בזיכרונו תוך כדי היצירה הקשה והאבסורדית שסבבה אותו, ללב המהות של החיים בטרזין - הפחד מפני הטרנספורטים , בצד הצחוק במופעי הקברט.
