Skype allows users to make free internet calls, see, message and share with others anywhere in the world. It is considered a true Web 2.0 tool because it is free, operates in real time, and enables collaboration. Skype can then be used to communicate with individuals or connect classrooms together for discussions and cultural learning experiences. Key features include connecting to Facebook, using Skype on WiFi and the Skype Manager tool. The main pros are free communication globally and easy use, while the cons are potential misuse if not monitored and reliance on internet connectivity.
