2. A Partnership Approach
“Kingston Smith has frequently recruited placement
students through the Brunel Placement and Careers
Centre over the last few years. The service is of a
high standard and we have employed several bright
undergraduates who have added a great deal of value
whilst working with us. In fact, we have employed a
number of them on a permanent basis once they have
finished their studies”

4. Recruit Brunel Talent
“As a graduate employer it is key for us to forge strong
relationships with Placement and Careers departments – I work
closely with a number of universities but have to say so far the
service Brunel have provided has been outstanding.
Getting access to students within specific departments has
always been a struggle at other universities as I have had to
build links with lecturers. However, the Placement and Careers
Centre at Brunel provide a seamless service which is linked to the
whole university making it easier for me, as a recruiter, to get in
front of targeted students without going on a wild goose chase!
This has benefits for us and more importantly the students. I
really get the feeling that the team have a genuine passion for
developing students and getting them ready for industry with the
comprehensive services they provide. They are also always looking
for new ways for an organisation to engage on campus.”
Mohit Malik, Transport for London

Workshops are an ideal opportunity for you to contribute to our students’ skills development
and their preparation for placement and graduate jobs. Our workshops focus on written
applications, CVs and application forms, assessment centres, interview skills and developing
commercial awareness, but we’re always open to new topics. Workshops benefit greatly from
employer input and we are always keen to discuss potential involvement. If it is specifically
placement students you are looking to recruit, we also coordinate a number of skills based
sessions as part of the pre-placement module which is delivered in the curriculum.
caReeRs uncoveRed

opportunities that are available in any one sector. Why not send along a recent graduate to talk
about their role and what it’s like to work for you? Of course, if you can’t make it to one of these
events, we can organise a promotional stand on campus or a presentation direct to students.
“I have been working with the Placement & Careers Centre at Brunel University for
the last 3 years. The staff of the Service have always been professional and prompt
in responding to any requests from Xerox. The experience of working with them has
proved to be productive and worthwhile and I have successfully recruited students
with their help. I do not hesitate to recommend other employers to work with Brunel as
