Favorite Recipe
Directions are important guidelines to follow when it comes to many different subjects. For
example, when cooking or baking it is often very important to follow each step correctly or
else your dish might not turn out the way you want it to. What are some of your favorite
foods to cook or bake at home with your family? On the back of this paper brainstorm a
list of your favorite foods to cook or bake.
Your assignment this week is to choose one of your favorite recipes and explain step by
step how to make it. Your paper should be in paragraph form with transitional words like
first, next, and finally. Start your paragraph off by telling the reader what materials and
ingredients they will need to make your dish, and then continue it with each step in the
correct order. If you get stuck think about what someone who has never cooked before
would need to do in order to make your dish perfectly. Make sure your steps are
organized and clear. Have fun!
