This document outlines a research project exploring how textiles can be used to transform buildings. Specifically, the project will investigate using textiles for strengthening building facades and constructing light, flexible interior walls. The context includes many vacant buildings in northern and eastern Netherlands that require renovation. Textiles are already used in construction for membranes, strengthening structures, and improving insulation and sound reduction. The project aims to develop prototypes for earthquake-proofing facades and creating interior walls using textiles. Partners from the construction and textile industries will collaborate on the prototypes.
