1. your invitation
to make a difference.
Our friend Dr. Forrest M. Bird’s innovative
Flow Ventilation™ technology has been saving
the most fragile patients in acute care settings
for many years.
Drawing on his drive and legacy of innovation,
I’m very pleased to bring that very same
technology home with the Travel Air™.
I’m inviting you to join us in advancing the
world of pulmonary care through collaborative
studies, research and continued innovation. By
documenting the benefits we bring to our patients,
we can improve the quality of life for millions who
suffer from pulmonary disease.
I look forward to speaking with you about
how we can make a difference and
change everything together.

2. Flow Ventilation™
is saving and improving
lives today
Dr. Forrest M. Bird revolutionized the
world of respiratory care. His innovative
Flow Ventilation™ technology has been
saving lives in adult, pediatric and
neonatal critical care as well as military
and transport applications for nearly 30
years. Today, Flow Ventilation™ is helping
save and improve lives across the entire
spectrum of respiratory care:
ICU
Flow Ventilation™ (also known as IPV®
or HFPV) has been shown to provide
improved oxygenation and lung protection
in critically ill patients with ARDS, without
sacrificing effective CO2 removal
and without the drawbacks associated
with conventional ventilation. Flow
Ventilation™ has unique benefits for
patients with severe burns and inhalation
injuries. Recent studies have shown
that Flow Ventilation™ can dramatically
reduce the length of time that patients
may require extracorporeal membrane
oxygenation (ECMO).
NICU / PICU
The unique automatic “clutching” ability of
the Phasitron®
makes Flow Ventilation™
ideal for the especially sensitive lungs of
children and neonates.
TRANSPORT / MILITARY
Flow Ventilation™ with ventilators
developed by Dr. Bird specifically for
the military have helped save numerous
soldier’s lives during transport from
battlefield medical units to major trauma
centers. The unique characteristics of Flow
Ventilation™ with fully pneumatic drive
units and the Phasitron®
make it ideally
suited for use in airplanes and helicopters.
The same technology enabled thousands of
critically ill babies to be safely transported
from one hospital to another.
THERAPEUTIC CARE
Utilizing the percussive micro-oxygenation
concept of “Birdian Flow”, Flow
Ventilation™ enables improved clearance
of secretions while supporting lung
recruitment and gas exchange in a highly
lung-protective manner. These benefits
are available to patients of all ages, from
neonates to elderly COPD patients.
HOME CARE
The newest generation of Flow
Ventilation™ devices makes the benefits
of this unique therapy available to patients
in ambulatory and home-care settings.
Designed for maximum therapeutic
effectiveness combined with ease of use
and simple maintenance, these devices
set new standards for home respirator
therapy to improve the quality of patients’
lives and help reduce the number of
hospital readmissions.
