From 1998 to 1999, Beatriz Armendariz was a Visiting
Scholar at David Rockefeller Center for Latin American
Studies, Harvard University. Established in 1994,
DRCLAS focuses on increasing knowledge of economies,
cultures, histories, environment and contemporary
affairs of present and past Latin America.
The mission of this organization is to strengthen
relationship between Harvard and institutions

Beatriz Armendariz is a senior lecturer in Economics at
University College London and holds Ph.D. in Economics
from EHESS, Paris, France. Currently, she has been
appointed as summer school professor at University of
the Andes (Columbia) - a co-educational private
university located in city center, Bogota, Columbia. It
was founded in 1948 and has 9 faculties, including
Administration, Architecture and Design, Arts and
Humanities, Sciences, Law, Social Sciences, Economics,
and Engineering and Medicine.
In addition, the University offers an international
summer school program that gives students an
opportunity to expand their international perspective by
attending special courses in specialized areas.
6. Beatriz Armendariz Is a Lecturer in Economics
Beatriz Armendariz is a resident of London and a Senior
Lecturer in Economics. She is presently teaching at the
University College London in United Kingdom. Prior to this,
she was associated with the Harvard University, USA as a
lecturer in Economics.
She completed her graduation in Economics from Mexico in
1984 followed by M Phil in Economics from University of
Cambridge, UK. Later on, she did her Ph. D from France.
‘Foreign Debt Negotiations: A Historical and Theoretical
Analysis’ was her topic of Ph. D Dissertation. She is an
intellectual person and is also the founding member of the
Grameen Credit Agricole Microfinance and Gender Equality
Fund. She has travelled a lot and has been moving from one
part of the world to other. She is a prominent research fellow
and an active member of the Scientific Committee.
