Jesus, God’s Terminator, Overcame Death for Us
A Message of Declarations and Exhortations

2. Sin Brings…
• “In the day you eat of it, you
will eventually die.”( Gen.
2:17)
• Physical death
• Emotional death
• Relational death
• Cain & Able
• Spiritual death
• Global Flood

3. “I Make All Things New”
(Rev. 21:5)
• Sin brought death to humanity on earth in many forms (Gen. 3)
• Since the Fall, God has been restoring to life those things that
that have suffered degrees of death due to sin
• Jesus is God’s God’s Terminator, God’s final solution to bring
life from death on earth ( John 10:10)
• “For He {Jesus} must remain in heaven until the time for the
final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago
through his holy prophets.” (Acts 3:21)
• Some flip homes. Jesus is a “life-flipper”!

4. Punishments & Promises
• Jer. 29:11: “Plans to give you hope & a future” during God-
imposed exile
• “For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy,
because your iniquity is great…” ( Jer. 30:14)
• “‘For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your
wounds,’ declares the Lord.” ( Jer. 30:17)
• Jer. 31:31: Promise of New Covenant
• Is. 35 & Is. 61: God’s New Covenant restoration promises

5. Restoration Promises
For Healing
• Is. 35:5-6: “The eyes of the blind will be opened
• The ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
• The lame will leap like a deer,
• And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy.”

6. Messianic Restoration
Promises
• Is. 61:1-3: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has
anointed Me
• To bring good news to the afflicted;
• He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
• To proclaim liberty to captives
• To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord
• Giving them a beautiful flower headdress instead of ashes,
• The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
• The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.

7. The Job Description
of Jesus
• “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
• Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
• He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,
• And recovery of sight to the blind,
• To set free those who are oppressed
• To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” ( Luke 4:18-19)
• “Today this scripture is fulfilled.” (Jesus in Luke 4:21)

9. Healing Through the Cross
• “Surely our griefs (20x =sickness) He Himself bore, and our
sorrows (pain: physical & mental)…And by His scourging we
are healed.…” (Is. 53:4-5)
• “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were
brought to Jesus, and He drove out the spirits with a word and
healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through
the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took on our infirmities, and carried our
diseases.’” ( Matt. 8:17)
• “…and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that
we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds
you were healed (iaomai—26x = heal body).” (1 Peter 2:24)

Instead of Death
• Rebirth of our spirit
• Healing of our bodies
• Healing of our emotions
• Healing of our relationships

God’s Terminators
• “As the Father has sent me, I am sending
you” (John 20:21)
• "You are my witnesses” ( Is. 43:10)
• “You will be my witnesses…to the ends of the
earth.” (Acts 1:8)
• “Go and make disciples of all nations…” ( Matt.
28:19)

14. We Do the Ministry!
• “And He gave some as
apostles, and some as
prophets, and some as
evangelists, and some as
pastors and teachers, for the
equipping of the saints for
the work of ministry..” (Eph.
4:11-12)

heavenly realms according to
the eternal purpose that He
accomplished in Christ Jesus

Terminator) (Eph. 3:10)

18. Whose Praise
Are You Seeking?
• “Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in
Him;
• but because of the Pharisees they did not confess
Him, for fear that they would be put out of the
synagogue.
• For they loved praise from men more than
praise from God.…” ( John 12:42)

Is Serious Business
• “…Work out your salvation
with fear and trembling, for it
is God who is at work in you,
both to will and to work for
His good pleasure.” ( Phil. 2:
12-13)

20. How Do We Work It Out?
• Live like Jesus lived
• His love for God: the center of His life
• His character: holy, resisting sin
• His spiritual power: Helped others by the power of the Spirit
• His purpose: helping people make it to heaven.
• “…to equip the saints for works of ministry…as we mature
to the full measure of the stature of Christ.” (Eph. 4:13)

21. God is Saying…
• Wake up!
• Be alert!
• Be faithful to follow the teachings and example of Jesus
• Be my witnesses! Tell people about Me!
• Help Me bring many people to heaven.
• My Son paid for their sins. They need to know!
• You are the only Christian many people will ever meet.

• Create a written testimony. The church will print it
• Pass out your testimony & other tracts
• Use social media to witness to your faith in Jesus… globally
• We can train you!
• Pray for the gift of evangelism
• Pray for people to be saved everywhere you go
• Volunteer to serve in our church outreaches
• As God to break your heart for what breaks His
