Selwo Wildlif e Adventure Park ( Selwo Aventura) is just a couple of
miles along the A-7 coastal road f rom Marbella and Puerto Banus,
heading towards Estepona at 162.5km.T he wildlif e park is home to
more than 2000 animals f rom every continent around the world,
that live semi-f ree on one million square meters of land.
Selwo Aventura has so much to of f er you to make your f amily day
out f ull of f un. As well as the animals there are many other
activities on of f er, such as camel rides, archery, an adventure
playground, trampolining, rope slide, a simulated rain f orest, water-
spray machine and an exhibition of the f lying and hunting skills of
f alconry, including eagles and hawks.
T he park has extensive lake-side gardens that lead to a Masai
style village, complete with huts and Europe’s biggest walk through
aviary. Here you will have the opportunity to see over 1000 dif f erent species of birds that live in a vast
and enclosed valley.
When you have f inished meandering around the lake and gardens you can take a truck ride up to the f irst
stage, where there is a cave f ull of bats and an enclosure f or Bengal tigers. From here another truck will
take you through the valleys and hill sides to the top of the park where you f ind a restaurant with the
most spectacular panoramic views.
T he trucks depart at regular times throughout the day but in the peak months you will f ind yourself in a
queue. T he trucks take you through many separate areas within which you will see many dif f erent types
of animals including antelopes, bison, bears, elephants, giraf f es, tigers and rhinoceroses. Many of which
have the f reedom to roam around.
If you don’t f ancy taking the truck you can walk along the paths, crossing the rope and f oot bridges. T his
is f ar more leisurely and you can take viewing the animals at a f ar slower pace.
2. Appropriate f ootwear is a must when visiting Selwo Aventura and it is also important to always have a
drink with you and lots of sun protection.
Selwo is a f antastic day out, with so much to see and do f or all ages.
Selwo also has a hotel f or those who f ancy extending their time at the park. Selwo Lodge consists of 23
cabins set in the Watu and Masai villages giving you the f eeling of being in an Af rican game reserve. T he
huts are constructed of wood and stone whilst the interior gives you the comf ort of a modern hotel.
Each hut has a cosy double bedroom with television, f ridge and hot/cold air-conditioning and a bathroom
with a hydro-bath f or relaxing in when you return f rom your f un f illed day at Selwo Aventura. For more
