Editor's Notes
So, for a brand, what are the key steps to solving this problem? First, find a means to get to know your target consumers in detail. Who are they? Where are they located? What are their interests and affinities? Who are they connected to? And who influences them? Then, use this knowledge to develop targeted marketing campaigns that appeal to these consumers’ specific interests and get them involved. For example, are they into a particular music genre, or sport, or gaming, or movies, or photography, or whatever the case may be. As part of these campaigns, incentivize the influencers to participate and get their friends and friends-of-friends involved. And, very importantly, leverage technology to assist with this process wherever possible.
