Write a three- to four-page proposal for your research project idea. State what your topic is,
discuss what interests youabout it, and why you think it is important to
explore.IMPORTANT: Include which tenet (you can use more than one) of CRT you will be
using to look at this issue. The primarytenets of CRT are:1. Racism is an ordinary, regular
condition of society; it is a “normal abnormality” not an occasionalaberration2. Interest
convergence: the idea that whites will allow and support racial equality to the extent that
there issomething positive in it for them, or a “convergence” between the interests of whites
and people of color3. Race is a social construct and has no scientific or biological/genetic
basis; it is the product of social thought andrelations4. Differential racialization: the ways in
which the dominant society racializes different minority groups in response toshifting
trends and needs5. Intersectionality and antiessentialism: no one has a single, easily stated,
unitary identity; everyone has potentiallyconflicting, overlapping identities, loyalties and
allegiances6. The notion that the voices of people of color are unique and when articulated
serve as a challenge to the narrative ofwhite supremacy; the “legal storytelling” movement
encourages writers of color to recount their experiences with racismand the legal system
