2. WHAT IS PMS
• Parking management refers to policies and programs that result in more
efficient use of parking resources.
• Parking is an essential component of the transportation system. Vehicles
must park at every destination. Management - available facilities are used
inefficiently and should be better managed.
Location, Cost, Time, Supply & Demand
Demand Based Strategies Combine Parking And Transportation
Alternatives
Priority Target Markets
4. WHY PMS
• Increase economic Vitality
GUIDING • Reduce traffic impact of economic
opportunities
PRINCIPLES • Revitalize Main Street
• Develop parking management Framework
• Determine capacity and utilization of parking
GOALS system
• Better use parking resources
• Identify priority parking user
• Identify parking areas for customers,
OBJECTIVES employees and residents.
• Create parking management program
• Link parking and workability concepts
5. CURRENT MARKET DEMAND
• Presently demand for cars going up at the rate of 15% per annum
• Presently 15 lacs being sold every year
• Making roads more expensive than parking infrastructure
• Cars being parked on roads causing traffic congestion and pollution
By the above points we can say that the demand of parking
management systems will increase.
6. WHAT IS RFID
• RFID is an abbreviation of Radio Frequency IDentification.
• RFID is an AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture)
Technology that uses radio-frequency waves to transfer data between a
reader and an electronic (RFID) tag attached to an object, for the purpose of
identification and tracking.
• RFID is Fast, Reliable, and does not require Physical Sight or Contact
between reader/scanner and the tagged item (RFID Tag).
• RFID is widely used for Identification of men, material, vehicles,
animals, products, baggage and books.
7. RFID COMPONENTS
• RFID Tag
• A memory device, usually eeprom, programmed with a series of bits/bytes.
• Reader/Writer (Interrogator)
• The unit powers the coil of wire known as the antenna, filters and powers them for
transmission over distance.
• Antenna
• This is a coil of wound copper wire designed specifically to emit RFID signal.
• Host computer / Interface / Middleware
• The unit interfaces the reader to an intelligent device.
8. HOW IT RFID WORKS
• Tag enters RF Field
• RF signal powers tag
• Tag transmits ID, plus data
• Reader capture data
• Reader send data to computer
• Computer determines action
9. WHY RFID
• Enable Automatic Identification & Data Collection (Contactless)
• No line of sight needed
• Able to write data on tag (RFID tags have high data capacity and can
include manufacturer, batch no., ownership, destination, history etc.)
• The life of RFID tags is more then 25 years.
• Avoid Manipulation
• Avoid Error at data collection & Reduce Handling Mistakes
(No human intervention)
• Can read multiple item
• Suitable for harsh environment
• Avoid missing data for Important decision
10. WHY RFID FOR PMS
• The efficiency of management can be improved
• Optimum and full utilization of the parking slots
• Simple and monitor
• Better the time management
• Increase in accuracy and staff productivity
• Stress-free pleasurable parking for customers
• When the RFID Tagged vehicle enter in to the entry gate, it will be
recorded in the controller computer.
• If any vehicle has not rfid tag the guest rfid tag is provided to them so,
security will become tight.
• Generates reports on peak hour traffic pattern, average parking time,
parking time by user, exception reports etc.
Improved safety
• Video surveillance(monitoring) for the security purpose.
• There is no chance of duplication because RFID Tag is unique.
• Easy to integrate / install
11. PROPOSED SYSTEM
