1. Year 10 – Poetry Project
Driving Question:
Can cyborgs write poetry?
SCENARIO:
Imagine a world, 50 years from now, where cyborgs are part of day to day society. Cyborgs
have been nurtured by biologists, scientists and technologists, evolving alongside the natural
world. Think what mankind may have lost, or gained - and at what cost to the natural
world in a post-humanist society. Imagine you are part of 'The last poet society' - a group of
artists creating audio, visual and written works, reflecting on natural and artificial life.
INDIVIDUAL TASK: (15% - Due Friday, Week 5)
Research, design and produce an original poem in which you engage with and
answer the question ‘Can Cyborgs Write Poetry?’. This poem will be composed with
the help and feedback of your co-poets from The Last Poet Society.
GROUP TASK: (10% - Due Monday, Week 6)
As a member of The Last Poet Society you are to compile an anthology of digital
visual poetry. The working title is "Poems for Un-natural Life".
You will compile your anthology on a weebly.
INDIVIDUAL & GROUP TASK: (15% - Due Wednesday, Week 6)
The Last Poet Society will present poems to an audience including family, friends
and working Australian poets.
NOTE:
You can gain an additional 20% for being a good digital citizen - helping others,
offering new information and ideas via edmodo. This will be assessed at the end of
the project - and could make a real difference.
