bolting / friction prop / hydraulic prop / brick walling / any other type.
b) Type of support – permanent / semi permanent / temporary
c) Method of erecting each type of support.
d) Load bearing capacity of support – in case of hydraulic support i) Yield load and ii)
Setting load. Additional information to be collected in case of
i) Prop support – dimensions of lid, wedge, and base plate (if exit)
ii) Chock / cog support – dimensions of sleepers used, pressure releasing devise (if
installed)
iii) Roof bolting – type of roof bolt, depth of hole, if mortar (mixture of sand and cement )
is used sand : cement ratio.
e) Systematic support rules of the mine. – copy should be obtained.
f) Withdrawal of supports – study the various type of safety devices used in withdrawing
the support. Good sketches of all types of supports should be brought with dimensions
work with Limba Misty on the faces for few days.
