Simple Machines… Make work easier, but require the same amount of effort. Use energy supplied by the user.  Have few or no moving parts.
6 Simple Machines… Lever	 Inclined Plane Wheel and Axel Screw Wedge Pulley
Levers Long stiff arm that rests and moves on a base called a fulcrum. fulcrum Levers lift and move heavy objects.
Inclined Planes Slanted platforms that connect high and low places.  Uses less effort but increases space moved.
Wheel and Axel Wheel that spins around a rod. 							    Wheel 		          Axel Lifts or moves loads.
Screw Long cylinder wrapped with threads.                                     Threads The threads hold objects together.
Wedge Has at least 1 slanting side and ends in a sharp edge or point. Cuts materials or holds them apart.
Pulley Uses a rope that fits into a wheel to move objects.                                         Force By pulling on one side, you raise the object on the other side.
Complex Machines Complex machines are made from combining simple machines. screws 								wheel 							and axel 						pulley
