Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean that you can't enjoy yourself in restaurants. There are a lot of ideas that you can use to make sure you aren't feeling not only bloated, but also guilty after your meal. When you get to the establishment and order, don't be afraid to tell your server that you want your food prepared a certain way. They are there to meet your needs, so make sure you are not hesitant to specifically spell out what those needs are. Don't pick any jumbo- or super-size menu items.
1. Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean that you can't enjoy yourself in
restaurants. There are a lot of ideas that you can use to make sure you aren't
feeling not only bloated, but also guilty after your meal. When you get to the
establishment and order, don't be afraid to tell your server that you want your
food prepared a certain way. They are there to meet your needs, so make sure
you are not hesitant to specifically spell out what those needs are. Don't pick any
jumbo- or super-size menu items. Stick to regular portions. Instead of a full meal,
see if you can make a meal out of an appetizer or maybe order half an entrée. You
could share your meal with a friend or spouse and add an extra salad.
If you have to order a full meal, ask your server to wrap up half of it before it
comes to your table. That way you won't be as tempted to try and finish
everything off and you'll have something left over for tomorrow's lunch or dinner.
Find out what dishes have fewer calories. Before you arrive, see if you can check
the menu online for healthier options. Again, the servers in restaurants are there
to serve you. If you want your chicken grilled, your vegetables steamed like
bardet jean, or you want your salad dressing on the side, make that perfectly
clear when you order.
Nibble on some bread if you like, and then ask the server to clear it from the
table. It is very easy to pack on calories just mindlessly munching while you wait
for your appetizer or main course to arrive. If there is a dessert cart, stay away
from it so you're not tempted. Try to limit your alcohol intake as well, because
that can really add to your calorie count. It may also lower your inhibitions to the
point that you blow your diet entirely in one night.
