1. Press release
Klüber Lubrication to feature food-grade synthetic
lubricating and high-temperature chain oils at PACK EXPO
International
Londonderry, NH – (Oct. 9, 2014) – Klϋber Lubrication, a worldwide manufacturer of
specialty lubricants, will showcase several of its food- and pharma-grade products at
booth #8353 during PACK EXPO International 2014, Nov. 2-5 at McCormick Place in
Chicago:
• Klüberpharma UH1 4-220/4-460, a special synthetic lubricating oil for
pharmaceutical tablet presses
• Klüberfood NH1 C 8-80, a semi-synthetic oil for chains in high humid process
areas
• Klüberfood NH1 CH 2-220, a high-temperature chain oil
Klüberpharma UH1 4-220/4-460 are specially designed synthetic oils for the lubrication
of steel punches and bronze guides in pharmaceutical tablet presses. These lubricating
oils offer good wear protection, thus extending the service life of components. They also
reduce the friction coefficient during the start-up of tablet presses and are compatible
with bronze materials. This special property decreases the build up of black abrasion
particles and as a result, significantly reduces tablet contamination. Klüberpharma UH1
4-220 has been used very successfully by leading tablet manufacturers for the
lubrication of tablet punches.
Klüberfood NH1 C 8-80 is a semi-synthetic chain oil developed for the lubrication of
chains operating in high humidity for conveyor and drive chains. Its formulation,
incorporating a special additive package, enables significant friction reduction and good
2. protection against wear and fretting corrosion particularly in the highly stressed pin/bush
areas. Klüberfood NH1 C 8-80 has good chemical stability for acidic process and high
humidity environments, such as pasta dryers or proofer ovens in the baking industry
where other oils may contribute to residue build-up.
Klüberfood NH1 CH 2-220 is a fully synthetic, ester-based lubricant that can operate at
extreme temperatures for longer periods of time and without residue build-up, all while
protecting chain components from increased wear. Users benefit from dramatically
reduced consumption, cleaner operations, reduced noise and no smoking when
applying oil. The can manufacturing environment presents significant challenges for
proper lubrication of chains, including high temperatures, high and low speeds, potential
ingredient contamination and increased wear.
All aforementioned products are NSF ISO 21469 certified, as well as NSF H1
registered, and therefore comply with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570.
