The document analyzes the results of a questionnaire about preferences for a new music magazine for teenagers ages 15+. Key findings include:
- The majority of respondents were in sixth form or years 10-11, so the target age group will be 15+.
- "Rising Stars" was the most popular choice for the magazine masthead.
- Purple and grey were the most popular color choices and will be used for the magazine design.
- Most respondents wanted social media links and the price to be £3, so those elements will be included.
2. ANALYSIS
WHAT AGE GROUP ARE YOU IN?
• As you can see the majority of
the audience were in their
early teens.
• The most popular option
chosen was sixth formers and
then year 10’s too 11, so I will
be focusing my audience on
ages 15+ so I can cover a
wide range of age groups
therefore I will attract more
viewers
3. ANALYSIS
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE THE MASTHEAD OF THE MAGAZINE TO BE
CALLED?
• The majority of the audience
chose Rising Stars, so I will
be using this for my magazine
masthead.
• By taking in the publics
opinion I will know what will
attract my audience so that
they’ll purchase my magazine
4. ANALYSIS
WHAT COLOURS DO YOU THINK WOULD MOST LIKELY STAND OUT IN A MAGAZINE?
• As you can see, the least
popular choice was pink and
black so I will not be using
these colours for my
magazine
• The most popular choice was
purple and grey so I will most
likely be using this colour
theme for my magazine to suit
the needs of my target
audience
5. ANALYSIS
WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA WOULD YOU LIKE ON THE MAGAZINE?
• By using social media to
promote my magazine I am
using convergence, this will
make my magazine
accessible so anyone can be
updated even if they do not
buy the magazine.
• Most of the options were
chosen therefore I will most
likely be applying all of these
to my magazine.
6. ANALYSIS
HOW MUCH WOULD YOU SPEND ON A MAGAZINE?
• For the price of my magazine
I decided I don’t want the
price to high as most music
magazines are less than
£5.00.
• The majority of people chose
£3.00 so I will set this for the
price of my magazine so it’s
affordable for the target
audience to purchase.
7. ANALYSIS
HOW MANY PAGES WOULD YOU LIKE THE MAGAZINE TO HAVE?
• Most of the audience chose
21 - 30 pages, therefore I will
make my magazine probably
30 pages long, this means I
can include various topics in
my contents page.
• The least option was 5 - 10
pages, this may be because
magazines are never this
short and they need more
pages to cover a set of topics.
8. ANALYSIS
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE THE MAGAZINE TO INCLUDE?
• Most of the audience chose
all four on what should be
included in the contents, this
means I can cover various
topics to make it more
interesting for the audience
when they purchase my
magazine.
9. ANALYSIS
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE THE THE MAIN ARTICLE TO
INCLUDE?
• Again, majority of the
audience chose all 4 of the
choices. This means I can
include all these four in my
main article, I will be able to
entertain the audience and
keep them hooked into
reading the article. If it was
only one of these I covered, I
wouldn’t be able to write much
for my main article and it
would look empty which would
look incomplete.
