Feedback
Lesson 3
Lesson Goals
 Understand needs of client and target audience
 Know expected evidence to include of game features
 Be able to use feedback to improve creation section
#feedback
#improve
Creation
 The three main sections you must evidence for creation include:
Environment
Level Map, Decorated Rooms, Props
Interaction
Doors, Characters, Properties
Scoring System
Pickups, Game Rules, Win Screen
Know expected creation evidence
Use feedback to improve work

Environment
Know expected creation evidence
Use feedback to improve work
 The level map is the best way to evidence the environment you
have created as this shows the layout of your game from above.
 It is also important that you show
evidence of enhancing your map
using props that help to decorate
each area.
 If you have changed the properties
of some of the props around your
map it would also be good to show
evidence of this too.
#feedback
#improve
Interaction
 The client asked you to put at least four doors into the map and
you need to show evidence of how you open these doors.
 You need to give evidence of at least
five characters showing their actions
and any properties that were set.
 If you have other things a player can
interact with include these too:
 Levers
 Consoles
 Furniture
 Keypads
Know expected creation evidence
Use feedback to improve work

Scoring System
Know expected creation evidence
Use feedback to improve work
 Finally, your game had to have some kind of scoring system built
into it where pickups with points attached will have been used.
 You need to provide evidence of the
following popup screens used:
 Game Instructions
 Win Screen
 There may also have been some
negative pickups in the game with
properties that make the game more
challenging for the player.

Marking
Know expected creation evidence
Use feedback to improve work
 The difference between grade boundaries in this part of the
unit comes down to the success of the algorithms in the game:
Most Rules Working
Good map with appropriate props
Merit
7-11 Marks
All Rules Working & Appropriate
Enhanced map, suitable properties set
Distinction
12-15 Marks
Some Errors in Rules
Basic map with a few simple props
Pass
1-6 Marks

Your Task
 Use the feedback given on your R092 Game Design document to
 Each screen shot that you include
must be annotated explaining what
technique you are demonstrating.
 Make sure you show any additional
rules or actions you’ve added that
enhance your game.
#feedback
#improve
improve the creation section including:
 Environment
 Interaction
 Scoring System

Keywords
 Feedback
 Improve
 Algorithm
Know expected creation evidence
Use feedback to improve work
 Information on your work that will help
you improve what you have done.
 To make something better by refining or
editing work that has been done.
 A process or set of instructions to be
carried out in the game.
