BODEGA AVELINO VEGAS
Avelino Vegas winery was founded in the middle of the last
century by Avelino Vegas in Segovia, Castilla y León.
A decade after they had already started with the first elaborations
with the Verdejo grape variety which it would turn out in the
area emblem.
The company has continued growing and nowadays offers high
quality products from Rueda DO.

the IFC Certificate which assures their
ability to maintain quality and traceability
of all their outputs, together with the
global product safety and quality
certification program, the BCR Global
Standard Certificate.

D.O. RUEDA
Rueda DO was recognised in 1980 and highlights because of its
autochthonous grape variety: the Verdejo which produces international
renowned white wines.
It stands 700 to 800 metres above sea-level, on a high plateau of the Duero
river valley. The climate is extreme. Due to this the soils are pebbly and
poor in organic material; made up mostly of limey sandstone, which
provides good permeability and drainage.
Vineyards and grape
The vines of Avelino Vegas are found around the
area of Santiuste de San Juan Bautista, in
Segovia in the heart of the DO Rueda.
The indigenous grape variety is VERDEJO, which
is used as a varietal grape or as a blend with
VIURA or SAUVIGNON BLANC.
