1. Play Keyboard for Fun
Learning a musical instrument doesn’t have to take forever or become tedious if you apply the right
method of teaching.
What you have to consider when taking up lessons is that you can’t rely on a single way to learn. You
may find you learn better using a couple of different sources, such as having a private teacher for
your main pieces and for fun music learning from an online course.
If you get a great teacher who you build a good relationship with then be evident in your playing and
you will find your progress is a lot firmer.
Some people have a huge passion for learning keyboard and sometimes this disappears if they have
had a bad learning experience in which they feel they don’t actually get to play any real music and
have slow progression.
If you take the correct route that suits you then you are certain to have lots of fun every time you
tinkle at your keyboard.
There are many ways to make playing the keyboard fun. This can include recording your first proper
piece of music you learn. You will be so amazed at how good you sound once you play it back it will
inspire you to continue your study.
Another great thing to do is to get together with people who play different instruments. Depending
on your age you could get together with some school friends, or alternatively when chatting down
the pub ask around and see if there is anybody interested in a jam!
Doing this is a great way of developing your keyboard skills because it teaches you to improvise and
to communicate with other musicians.
Another fun thing to do is to challenge yourself to perform in public, so whether this be a family
gathering, a school concert or in your local pub. You may feel nervous beforehand but if you are
confident of what you are going to play then the rewards will easily outnumber the nerves you may
have.
What you have to do is ensure it is always fun, and if it starts to become a chore then something is
wrong, so try and figure out what this is and change it.
It can take many years of practice to reach the standard to be able play your own one hour song
repertoire on piano or keyboard.
But what if there was a simple method that could show any beginner how to do it in just 12 days?
